My tia got fish. 4 mollies and 3 platys and one pleco. The 4 mollies are all orange with black tails. The platys are black, black and yellow and Yellow. The black and yellow one is hanging out with the yellow one all the time. He is also chasing and nipping the mollies. They were all in the same tank at the fish store when we got them. Is there a reason that this one fish is nipping? Could the yellow fish be a girl and pregnant? Could that be the cause? :confused3

Those breed of fish will mate like rabbits. He will nip because of it. Wht size tank do you have? Those type of fish do well if there are a few more fish in the tank, so they have more fish to chase after, if that makes sense, so they don't just pick on one. Also, add some more places for her to hide - things with holes, and plants. He could kill her, too, so just be aware. Google how to distinguish male and female of the breed - its quite easy to tell once you know what you're looking for.

There in a 10 gallon, with one castle (that the pleco keeps them out of). Well this means its time to buy another castle. Im thinking I might have her move the male for awile, just till things calm down. Would buying a breeder box help?
