Agent P or Kidcot?

We are taking our almost 6 year old son and 3.5 year old daughter to WDW for their first time this fall. We are doing two days at Epcot, one of which we plan to strictly concentrate on the World Showcase. We are wanting to make it as fun for them as possible and plan to do the character meet and greets there, let them choose souvenirs from the countries, etc, but we also had planned to do the Kidcot stops to have something to 'do' that is for them.

The more I've looked at Agent P, I've wondered if this would be a better option? So, for those of you who have done it - with kids at 6 and 3.5, what would our best option be, Agent P or Kidcot?

For those ages, Kidcot for sure. Also, you can get a passport (for sale in the gift shops) and have it stamped in each country.

If I recall correctly, in China (I think), they wrote my daughters name on her kidcot mask in Chinese characters, and told her what year she was born in ("year of the ... monkey, lion, etc,).

When you're done with the kidcot coloring thing (not sure what it is now, but it was a mask when we did it years ago), you get a prize. I think ours was a poster of some sort? Not sure if they're still doing this but it was fun.

Another souvenir we really liked was a pretty fan from China, and they hand lettered my daughter's name in Chinese ...

As far as Agent P, I think your 6 year old will enjoy those, but the little one, not so much.

Of course, I've got a 12 year old so it's been awhile. She likes the Agent P things a lot

For treats, my daughter has always liked crepes in France, Kaki Gori in Japan, and pastries in Norway and France. (In fact, I think she likes Epcot so much because we are liberal with the treats there. It's treats with an educational flair, so it seems ok to me.)

your kids will prefer Kidcot. Some of the Agent P clues can be hard to find. You may lose their attention pretty quickly.

I agree with the previous posts, I was ready to say Agent P. from the subject till I saw the ages.

At those ages Kidcot will be perfect, and as a bonus, something you can save for after. There were passports at the gift shop last time we did this (but that was several years ago).

But I would strongly suggest not killing yourselves trying to get them all done, some stops take longer than others...we had to stop ourselves midway through the day when we felt we had turned it into a deathmarch from country to country and had lost the fun...doesn't matter to us that Germany and Japan aren't complete in the book.

Another thing we did was tried to find all the pressed penny machines to get a penny from each pavilion (they are not all in the pavilions, a couple are elsewhere in the parks...these are another nice, cheap, momento from the trip.

Great! That's how I was leaning, but I wanted to be sure. I had it all worked out into a touring plan already so I'm glad to not have to rework that :thumbsup2

That's a hard one. We took DD at 3.5 and she LOVED the Kidcot. We took her at 6.5 and she LOVED Agent P. She still really liked Kidcot, too, though. If it were my children at those ages and I was only going to do one, I'd choose Kidcot and maybe get the oldest the Passport thing (or make your own! I'm doing that this year, as have others) to do while at the Kidcot stations.

Last trip when DD was 6.5, we did Agent P for a little bit and did Kidcot all the way through. We like to spend a lot of time in Epcot, though, as does DD. Now that DS will be 3 on this trip, not sure if he will be so up for that! :)

We did both with DD4 in January.

She really enjoyed Kidcot, but half way through WS, she was bored, so we did Agent P. We did France and she loved it!

Your Agent P mission takes place within 1 country, so your 6 yo could do while the little one colors.

This sounds so fun!!!

I would have never thought to buy a souvenier from each country :)

I cant wait to go back and do that!

We did Kidcot with our 8yo DD last October. We bought the Passport & she also colored both the Duffy & Agent P stick characters. I got all of the locations of Kidcot stops online, but I don't remember where right now. We would search those out first, them go through the country. It was hot & a long walk, but looking for the next place to sign her book kept her occupied.

Love the printable passport! We had definitely decided to do the passports, but I really figured I'd be buying them! This is a great alternative!

I like it better than the ones there, honestly. If you print it on some decent cardstock they look great, too.

And the clues can be very very long.

The 6 year old might enjoy Agent P, but the little one probably won't. Since kidcot is fun for a 6 year old, too, kidcot is the answer.
