How old were you when you bought your original contract into the DVC?
A lot of discussion has come up about wanting to but not for various reasons (spouse, finances, etc.).

I'm just curious what the most common age is that people buy in at. Since the poll is anonymous, I'm hoping this doesn't upset anyone!

We were twenty-four and twenty-seven when we bought a resale at OKW. We had never been to that resort but knew that Disney wouldn't do us wrong. We are very happy we did it and don't regret it at all. Now we have two little ones and we hope to get the most out of our money for years to come.

I had to think about it...:) ...we bought BCV pre-sale sight unseen in 2002 so we were both 29. Wow, it's been 5 years already.

I was 47 and my husband was 46. Of course, I also didn't get married until I was 45. :)

23 and wife is 21. We bought 150 SSR about two months ago and 150 AKV Feb 1st.

We will be completing the purchase soon. I am mid-30s. Wish we had done it sooner but the kids are just getting to the good age, so I'm happy. Hopefully many more trips ahead of us.

DH was interested way back in 2001 but I avoided the DVC kiosks like the plague. We finally purchased last year after figuring out we couldn't afford rack at the BC any longer. We were usually getting some good AP rates on the rooms but we realized that we couldn't really count on those every time and those rates were rising right along with rack. We were being priced out of the BC, oh the horror!!! :scared1: I made up my mind pretty quickly after that and we had our first BCV stay last fall, I was 35.

35 - I guess it could count as a mid-life crisis? lol :lmao:

We were 25 - you have "Under 25" and "26-30" so I couldn't choose either :P

I was 50 when we purchased, but I think I voted on the second to the last one....OOOPS!

I a Geezer. Guess which one is me.:scared1:

Well, as of the time I viewed this poll, you had four other responses to keep you company :thumbsup2

I'm in the middle of the survey road....I was 38 when we purchased last year. I will be 86 when my contract at SSR expires

6% over 50 and STILL haven't grown up. YES:woohoo: . I'm almost there so there's hope for me too.

DH and I were both 26 when we bought at SSR in 2004. We're still not yet 30 (though it's coming quickly ) and adding on another 100 points at AKV.

I was 37 DW was 33, I had been trying to convince her it was a good deal for 7-years...she seems to be a slow learner :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm surprised and not surprised by some of the results.
I didn't expect to see multiple people under 25 (can you give me your financial secrets???).

And while I expected 36-40 to be the biggest group, it is second to 31-35.
I would expect 35-45 to be the biggest group of people based on cost of entry.

I'm 29, ok 30 in less than 3 weeks :sad1: and am hoping to get in within the next 5-7 years. Then our DD will be 6-8 and any 2nd addition will be known and likely 3-6, so the ages will be right.

My parents are owners, so I guess I could vote on their behalf (they'd be in the over 50 category, too -- hope they don't read this ;) ).

When looking at the poll results I think you should take into consideration that older folks are not as likely to be on the Internet. That will likely skew the percentages down for folks over 35. :smokin:
