Hey, everyone. This has been on my mind for some months now and I have gotten mixed answers so I'd like to know.

I am planning a trip with me and 11 of my friends for February 2006 at the Pop Century. We are going to begin to plan by this time next year. By the time we are at the hotel only two of us will be 18 with another person being 18 that March.

So my question to you is do you believe we will hve a problem booking a room and staying there. I have heard things from they don't ask the age, to one peson in the whole group must be 18, to one person per room 18.

So what is the real deal. Thank you very much in adavnce. :earsboy:

I can't answer your first question, but to your second it means that you posted on that thread. Any thread you post to will have a black dot on it. Makes it easy to see which threads you have posted to when you go back to the boards at a later time.

They may ask for a picture ID when you check in, most people hand over their license.....that has your date of birth on it. As far as 12 people and only 2 of them 18....you may have problems. I think you will need at least one 18 year old per room. You can try booking all 3 rooms under one name, you may get away with it. Another way would be for one of the 18 yr olds to book 2 and the other book one. Also you need to keep in mind that when you do book, they are going to ask you the names and ages of everyone in your party. When there are more than 2 adults (18+) in one room, there is a surcharge for each additional adult.

i hope that i dunt run into a problem like this. i plan on going to disney with like 2 of my friends who r 16 and 17. im 18 and i hope that they dunt give me a hard time. i will definately b in touch with the hotels that i think i may stay at.

you should be fine... you are 18....there will only be a total of 3 in one room.

Yea, I believe that in order to book the rooms on the phone, that they have to put at least one 18 year old or older in each room, unless it's a connecting room with a door with family kids in the second room, which I've heard done. You might be able to get away with requesting that two of the rooms be connecting, so that one person aged 18 could be the 18 year old for the two connecting rooms.

So if I found another 18 y/o, so it would be one 18 year old per room, I wouldn't have a problem.
Yes, but remember that the rooms only hold 4....so if you get another 18 yr old...you will have to drop someone else. I would try doing the 2 room booking with 1 18yr and 1 room with the ohter 18 yr old.... then you may actually get connecting (door in them to open up to 2 rooms) or adjoining (next door to each other ...but not opening to connect) rooms.
Please don't get upset with me but I am surprized that a 16 yr old's parents are going to let them go with just a group of friends...call me old fashion... I have a 15 (almost 16) and a 17 yr old & I will not let them do that.... and we live 3 hours from Disney!!!!

A MickeyFan, i completely understand what you are saying. What made my parents agree was that our group of friends have done trips together in camp for years, albeit with supervision, so we're pretty good with things like that.

Also, a lot of high school seniors go on Spring Break in Mexico so instead of that I am doing Disney World. We are planning this very well. I am an unofficial leader of this trip and I do believe it will work. i may be sixteen now, but by the time I go I will be 18. it will be me and my friend's final trip before college.

Any other replies would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you just call Disney and ask them?? Might give you the answer you need.

How does Disney do these kid trips where there may be only one adult chaperone for every 10 kids???

Most high school trips I've gone on all the kids were put 4 to a room, and the adult chaperones were two per room and took turns walking the halls after curfew.

If the 18 yo is the one in charge of the reservation, and uses their ID to check in, I don't see why Disney would have a problem.

the good ol days...when i used to go on class trips to disney and then sneek out after curfew. it was different when i went tho cuz they were too lazy to walk around so they just put tape on the outside of the doors. after the first time, i brought extra tape with me. :smooth:

I know that. At camp hey did this to us a few years ago, but we had a really cool counsler who trusted us so it was cool and he didn't tape sometimes.

yea it did. thank u and i wish u luck. and im just wondering (since this is my first time planning) can somebody tell me about how long before i go i should reserve everything?

Heck, my trip is about two years away, and me and my friends are talking about it for Feb 2006. We plan on saving money begining end of the summer and book February 2005, which is one year away from when our trip is.

So I'd say a year away is a good time.
