My dd turns 3 on 11/2/08. We're probaly planning our trip for 10/08-so she'll still be 2 (and free). But then, we've thought of goin in november instead-the first week or 2, but then she'll be 3. Honest opinions.....would it be completely unethical and terrible to say she's still 2 or should i just stick w/ going in oct?

Go November 1st. As long as she's 2 on the start of your trip she's still free and what better way to celebrate her birthday?

If you go the second week of November, AFTER her birthday, yes it's unethical, IMO, to say she is still 2.

We went last December the week before my daughter's birthday, and brought a birth certificate just in case, but no one checked. Whether it's unethical is kind of up to you. I tend to feel guilty about things like that, so I made sure we went before her birthday.

you know, that made me think. ethics is a personal matter, isn't it.

the question is, is it a question of ethics or legality? i was just thinking about posing the same question in another scenario. could you sneak into a movie theater?

I think bringing her right after she turned 3 and saying she's still 2 wouldn't be worth the stress of wondering if she'll say she's 3, etc. Just not worth it. plus, what is that teaching my older son? Okay, that's decided. I'll stick w/ when she's 2. Thanks everyone!:thumbsup2

It is only unethical if you define ethical as following the rules, not lyeing, cheating, committing fraud or having personal integrity. But hey you may define ethical differently than the rest of society. Disney counts on the public being honest what you do is up to you and what you can live with on your conscience.

I totally understand that you may ask that question. But I agree with your decision it's not worth it and it's not the best message to send. Have a great trip!

We are going to celebrate my son's third birthday and he will turn three during our trip. I planned on paying for him a ticket and meal plan for the entire trip. Now I am confused, can he get into the parks for free even after he turns three during our vacation?

by policy, yes. you don't age at WDW. you can celebrate, but not age.

Just go when she's 2 if paying for her would be an issue or you're unsure how she'll take it all.

While it was hard to do, we paid once DS turned 3 or we didn't go. While they may not check all the time, if you get caught it will be quite embarassing.

Since you asked for an honest opinion, then yes, it's completely wrong. You are aware of what the rules are so to intentionally violate them is wrong.

I think you made a good decision to be honest about it. My daughter will be 3 by mere weeks when we go, but we're paying for her...just didn't seem right to lie. I believe thinks come back to you, KWIM?

That Disney asks for the kids birth dates the first time you go (at least stay in a hotel). Then that information is tracked every time you go back. They always know how old my kids are without my telling them. If you lie now, that lie will stick with you forever.

My DS and DD would have yelled out no I am three now Mommy, remember! This year we are going the day before DS turns 10 and have been told by TA and CM that he stays 9 for the trip. Which is saving lots due to the dining plan.

If you read above, you'd see..........I had already made my decision not to and to just go when she's 2.
