Again, Digital Camera recommendation

I don't have a 10 second delay with mine at all. It's more in the range of 2-3 seconds unless I'm using the flash. When the flash has to recharge then the time between shots goes up to maybe 7-8 seconds. I've found that freshly charged batteries help the flash recharge time.

To help with blurry photos, put it on the action mode (the one with the little guy that looks like he's running). I used that mode at a football game this year. I was in the 25th row of the upper deck. The picture below is with the optical zoom all the way out, the camera set to action mode, and using the continuous shot feature. The picutre is still a little blurry, but, trust me, holding a 10x zoom still while a staduim is rocking at kickoff is quite a challenge. If your somewhere that is relatively calm it helps. However, no matter how calm it is, unless you have a very steady hand it is nearly impossible to hold the camera still enough with the zoom all the way out to get out the blur.

I would like to be able to take all kinds of action shots at WDW and sometimes Sea World.

Hi,
Perhaps this will help with your questions.

Sigh! Thanks, ibleedblue and Gail!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going on my 1st cruise next week - a 7-day cruise with a day before and after at WDW. I am hoping to bring back some awesome pictures. Maybe I need to take the old fully automatic 35mm, too. The zoom is small, but the pictures are usually really good. DH and I decided we wanted the larger zoom because of our previous pictures at WDW and SeaWorld. Guess we should have looked into a class on how to use it. Or how to hold it steady.......maybe some tranquilizers would help.

You have time to practice with this camera, not a lot but some.
Bring the 35mm with you, but, do try with the digital. Remember, you can always erase your mistakes and try again, it costs nothing!!!! :)

a Canon S1 IS today through Buy.com. I was hesitant about the 3.3mp but the 10x zoom was the clincher. Plus I really don't enlarge pics & have been completely satisfied with the resolution of my current Canon S230 with 3.2mp. I ALMOST went & got the Canon EOS Rebel Digital but with the purchase of the kit and an additional lens I just couldn't justify the cost - even with the bargain I found through amazon today. More $ for Disney & less camera to tote around! I should have the S1 by Wednesday so I'll be sure to let everyone know how it is!

All of you have inspired me, I've resumed my hunt for a digital camera.

I've been looking at the Minolta & Olumpus as I said on pg.1.

Has anyone got a digital that they recommend NOT to buy? That' just been a waste of time & money on, and I should stay clear of?

Yep, anything with Kodak or HP written on it. Those, in my experience, are the absolute worst cameras ever made.
Kodak should stick to film and HP to printers.

Samsung! I typically love Samsung electronics, but I've had two of their digital cameras and both were less than stellar. The image quality was bad on the first and it took nearly 2 seconds from the time you pressed the shutter for the picture to be taken on the second. We wound up with a lot blurs and missed shots...so much so that I sold the last one after only 4 months and bought the Olympus. Much, much happier with the Olympus!
