GF for our tea service. I am so excited about this and seriously, so was DH. We were the first ones seated in this beautiful room at the front of the GF ground floor.
DH took the booth side and I the chair side, I had a gorgeous view of these live flowers
There was a lot of couples there, many big men with these little delicate cups.
We each ordered the Buckingham Palace. We each got a pot of tea, DH chose the vanilla roobios which was heavenly. They served his in a pressed pot
I opted for the Mad Hatter, a passionfruit, pomegrante and vanilla blend. It was so good. I had the ceramic tea pot and the cozy to keep it warm.
We were given a plate with 5 finger sandwiches and one onion jam tartlette. The pear and gorganzola on brown bread was very good. Chicken salad, shrimp salad, egg salad and watercress. Amazing stuff, the shrimp salad was the best. The server said that you can opt for one over the other or omit on and sub another...whatever you like you can do. DH surprised me as he loved all the items.
Next course was the scone with devonshire cream and strawberry jam and a raspberry tartlette. I did not like the tartlette, it was super tart but DH loved it. The scone was so light and flaky and melt in your mouth fantastic that we wanted more and more. We lathered it with the devonshire cream and strawberry jam and we just melted.
Here is a large tray of the tartlettes on the table as you walk in
Final course is the option of strawberries and cream or 2 pastries. I chose the strawberries and cream. WOW they were fantastic, very cool and sweet and the fresh cream was to die for.
DH opted for the chocolate dipped strawberries and the tiramisu cup. Both were fantastic.
Here is a pic of the pastry tray that you see when you walk in. Lots of great stuff!
We were there for 75 minutes and never felt rushed or uncomfortable. We each polished off the pots of tea and all the food...we were so stuffed! DH said that he loved it and felt very relaxed and would go back again for sure.
