Do they take reservations for afternoon tea? Do you recommend getting them? Also, any idea of about how long we'd be there?

Yes, the do take reservations for afternoon tea and depending on when you are going to be at WDW, they may fill up. That being said, I had to take a specific time when I was there last year, but the Garden View was only 1/2 full and could have taken walk-ups. This was early March 2005.

As for how long...I think we were there an hour or so.

I hope this helps!

You'll be there at least 45-60 minutes - we spent two hours but we like to gab!

I would make one just in case if you know when you want to go (you can always cancel) - they had several big parties when we went and the place is quite small. You can stay as long as you want, we stayed about an hour.

I made an ADR for our first week in January trip last week, and couldn't get a table for four - I had to take two tables for two. I'm hoping they'll just seat us together when we show up. Anyway, the moral of the story is go ahead and make the ADR - what could it hurt?

Especially during peak times and on weekends tea is almost always sold out. Make the PS or risk being turned away.

We did the afternoon tea the last time we were there... I think it was April and I have to say I was a little disappointed in the quality of the food. I have done the tea the previous year and it was much better. Not sure if we were at the end of the day and things looked tired but the service was not up to par either. JMO

I made ADRs for 12/21 about 8 weeks ago and could only get 2 tables for 2 (for our party of 4).

I made an ADR for our next trip and I have a question about # in party.

My DH said he didn't want to do the tea this time, but I made the adr to include him. He's always changing his mind. Anyway, do you think it's ok to just show up with only 4 people when the ressie has 5 people on it? Will the people at the podium make a big deal of it? Or should I just try to call the day of and change it, if I can?

I agree. Going down in number normally isn't a problem in a restaurant, it is going up! Go and enjoy! From personal experience, my dad was included in our ADR. He actually sat at the table, looked at the menu and then high-tailed it to the pool-bar outside. He was in heaven (sports, warm weather and a beer :earboy2: ) and the girls were pampered a bit! So, the point of that little story - we went from 4 to 3, and the Garden View didn't have a problem!

Thanks Thumper's Tara and Aimeedyan. I won't worry about it now.
