I'm planning on sending my daughter to the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian. It is from 1:30 to 2:30. I'd like to have afternoon tea in the garden lounge with my mom at the same time. The problem is that the adult's tea starts at 2:00. Does anyone know if 30 minutes is long enough for us to enjoy the Tea for Two?

Also, I'd appreciate any comments regarding either of the tea programs.

Thanks!

I read this a few days ago, it's a review for the afternoon tea in the Garden Lounge. http://wdwig.com/rev_gftea.htm

Sorry, can't answer that! I've never been, but have thought about it for my next trip.

Help that link helps!

No, definitely not. It's very liesurely. We have been to afternoon tea twice, and it's always take at least an hour.

you should be able to enjoy most of your tea before your DD is finished. Then one of you can go get her and bring her to the GVL.
Last yr my DSi, her DFi, DH and DS ate at the GFC while DM and I had tea at GVL. They finsihed before we did went to get the girls (DD and DNi) at the tea party. I would say we were about to start dessert when the the tea party was finished.

Ok, while I haven't had a child in the go to the tea party I have had tea at the Garden View quite a few times and I love it!! FH and I started going last year on our anniversary and have been back several times. I even took my little sister (12) for our Girls Only part of her birthday and she loves it! Thirty minutes would not be long enough to really enjoy the tea. You can order Tea for 2 as well as several other options and a la carte items. Tea is always at your own pace and I've never had the staff try and rush us out. If everyone wants to go to a tea party then go ahead... just pick the kids up and let them go back to the Garden View with you.

Thanks so much to everyone who responded!

I've decided to go ahead and start the Garden View Tea while my daughter is in her tea, then pick her up when it's over and return. I guess I forgot the two teas are in the same resort because I hadn't even thought of this! Isn't it amazing how when you get so bogged down with the details of planning, the really obvious things sometimes don't even occur to you?

Thanks again!

Don't think 30 minutes would be long enough. From what I can gather it usually taken between 60 and 90 minutes.

we did the afternoon tea a couple of years ago - we were there at least an hour (had the "tea for two") - very leisurely, our server didn't rush any courses - delicious, really tasty sandwiches - loved those scones! and the pastries! - would have stayed longer, but DH was feeling a bit out of place (like a bull in a china shop) - surroundings were too "dainty" for him - but he was a good sport about!

doing the tea again myself alone this august - my teenage son wants no part of it! (more for me!)

My DD has done the Wonderland Tea Party 3 times and is going again in August. Every time I have gone to the Garden View Tea. It is very leisurely so I just leave at 2:30 to go pick her up and come right back to finish my tea!:D

Usually I leave right after the scones and just before dessert. I bring my daughter back and we talk about her tea experience. I recommend doing them both!

And I do recommend making a PS for 2:00 for your tea...just in case there may be acrowd that day. That happened to me once around Christmas time and I was so glad I had the PS.
