Looking at Allears today I noticed that the prices at the Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea went up a couple dollars for each package and the "Sally Lunn" package, which was a good package for those on a budget, was completely did away with. Is allears wrong? Anybody been there lately? If so I may have to cancel my ressie. Im not pay $30 for tea and tiny sandwiches!

I was just there a couple of weeks ago and the Sally Lunn was gone.
We had the Buckingham Palace tea at $23 each. An order of scones was $3.50.

There's a new Princess Kate tea which is $38. I used to do the Grand Tea, which went up to $29 but I was driving and didn't need the champagne. lol The Kate has a glass of Veuve Cliquot.

It really has gotten rather pricey, but we use it as a meal. With TiW the total was $51.09. I can eat sushi at the CG for that. ;)

Sadly, the Sally Lunn package is gone. It was my absolute favorite, and I also thought it was good deal. Our server said that only the locals seemed to order it. He also said that they sometimes had so much of it left over that they had to throw it away. I tried the package with the sandwiches and sparkling wine (Buckingham, maybe?), but I was less than impressed. I'm just not a fan of those sandwiches and I thought it was fairly expensive. So, the next time I'm going to go ala carte. Eros tea, scones, and trifle.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear that it's gone up, but it won't keep me from going with my princesses(26 & 30) in Oct. LOVE IT. :cloud9:

The prices are fairly reasonable. I paid $58 Canadian per person for Tea at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia. It was close to $150 with tax and tip all said and done, for my FW and I.

I have no idea what the tea at the Fairmont Empress would be like (sounds wonderful :goodvibes), but I also have had tea at some other very elegant hotels which were indeed more expensive than the tea at the Grand Floridian. But then those were also much more extravagant experiences. While the tea at the GF is very lovely and fits its setting, it is not nearly as special as what I experienced at other places. So the price should reflect that.

Unfortunately it seems that Disney has once again made dining more expensive, I checked some menus on Allears today as well and was quite shocked. Boma is now $ 39.40 per person! :scared1:

Our first time there will be this coming October, but I have been looking at the menu for quite some time, and also noticed a price increase. Obviously, I'm not happy about it, but there is nothing I can do, and I really want to do this with my mother and daughters. The way I look at it, is this is a once in a lifetime (or maybe just once in a vacation) kinda thing, so if I have to pay a little more, I will. I've seen some other "tea rooms" near me - I'll have to look into them for later!

I've had afternoon tea at several places by me at home and they are all more expensive. I don't know how the food portions compare and price increases are never fun but it seems like you can still order a la carte?

You certainly get more than tiny sandwiches and tea for the price. The scones and devonshire cream are yummy as are the desserts. I have always felt that it was underpriced (a great value) compared to local tea shops. You are paying for a delightful, relaxing experience in a beautiful setting and some yummy treats.

I'm planning on going there in Sept with my 3 sisters. The price does or does not include tax? We are on a very stridgent budget so we /they need to know everything. lol
tia.

No, the price does not include tax or tip. I understand the budget issue as I am, by necessity, very frugal.
We are going on Sept. 19th
