I was wondering about the assortment of tea sandwiches at the GF Afternoon Tea. Are they different types everyday? Can you only pick certain ones?

Thank you :thumbsup2

Tea at the GF is a really nice way to spend an afternoon. There are several different food offerings you can choose from the menu, and many different kinds of tea, including herbal teas.

This is what is available on the menu as far as food offerings as concerned (as taken form allears menus)

When I go to tea, I always get the Buckingham Palace meal. The sandwiches are cut into triangles and you receive one triangle of each type of sandwich.: Shrimp salad, egg salad, pear and gorgonzola (my fave), watercress and chicken salad. If you were to put them all together you would basically get one full sandwiich and 1/4 of a sandwich. I am allergic to shrimp, so they are more then happy to substitute my shrimp salad sandwich for and egg salad or whatever I request. It always seems to be enough for me!

DD 12 did get her sandwiches the way she wanted...

when we went the first time, she was just starting to drink tea - and looked forward to this Grand Tea - but we met friends, and she looked at her sandwiches and tea - then looked at theirs - and the CM generously stepped in, and asked if she would prefer the Mrs Potts, great relief showed on dd face - the day was saved...

last year, she spent all year trying different teas, and finally latched on to one she loved Darjaleen - We get to the Grand Tea - and it wasnt listed, her face fell... and so I asked - viola - they did have it!! Then she asked if she could just have ham and cheese sandwiches... yep! :woohoo:

So you never know unless you ask!

I am just worried about not liking the pear and gorgonzola and watercress one. To be honest the Mrs. Potts one sounds good to me. :rotfl:
Maybe I can get PB and a ham one instead of those two. ;)

Thanks for the info

the pear & gorgonzola one is my favorite! It's very mild if that's what you're worried about. But, you can always tell them to substitute it for something else.

Also- if you lke the "herbal teas" you should try the Nobo tea- it's really good too!

I have a ton of pics in my April link and I remember they let you select which sandwiches you wanted because DH doesnt eat tuna so he got 2 of another kind instead

Thank you very much MickeyNicki for the pictures. Looks so yummy! I just can't decided if I want the strawberries or pastries. Maybe both. ;)

I was worried if I would like the pear/gorgonzola sandwich. It ended up being my favorite! In fact I'm going to substitute the pear for the chicken salad sandwich when we go in July.

I love all of the sandwiches and probably wouldn't change a thing. I like the variety. My DD was told by the CM that (on any future visits) she could have any kind of assortment she wanted. If she only liked chicken salad then she could get a plate of those. Or a combination of others she may have liked. (She was trying mine 'cause she didn't think she would like any of them.) I would go with the strawberries and cream. The serving size isn't what it used to be but it's still fresh and delicious. My favorite tea is EROS. Aboslutely  it!! It's even good with a bit of cream.

I am happy to hear the clarification of the sandwiches, I thought we would have a choice of which one we wanted. I will stick to chicken salad and if possible, tuna:)
