We have afternoon Tea ressie at 4:40. My original plan was to go to AK that day, can we go to Tea right from the parks...or do we need to be in our "proper tea wear"? :rotfl:

I thought since we had no dinner plans that night....we could eat there and have a snack back at POP. I'm just afraid I will look a mess after spending the day at AK!!!!!!:scared1:

We wore Dis tees and shorts, came straight from MK

There were some people dressed up, a group of red hat purple dress ladies but the most part, the majority of the people were in park clothes too

I'd say it depends on what you're wearing to the park that day. If you're going in 'nice' shorts or capris, with a nice top, I'd say you're OK. Something like khaki shorts with a dressier T, or a collared shirt. Or, a sundress.

If it's cutoffs with a wrinkly, sweaty t-shirt, I'd stop at my resort and change into something a bit fresher and nicer.

The tea room is very elegant and upscale, and you will see people dressed up a bit there. I think you'll feel more comfortable there if you're dressed a bit nicer than typical park attire.

Awww I wanted to do this on my last trip! If I had, I would have worn a dress and kitten heels. :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies....I guess I will leave the cut offs and concert t's back at the room :lmao:

Nice shorts/capris/sundress - check~

Oooo....Tea at the Garden View Cafe is wonderful! I've done this several times and anything goes. They're not going to kick you out if you're in shorts and a tee. But I agree with the other PP that it is a beautifully elegant place and I always try to "spruce up" a bit when I go. Then I feel like I'm adding to the beauty of the place. ;)

Wonderful advice! We did just this last year. The girls planned on going so we all wore dresses. It rained that day and the plan was for the boys to ride the boats but they couldnt because of the rain. They were in park attire but the Tea Room staff was very nice and sat them near us so they were able to join us regardless of their attire.

Thank you for mentioning this! I never thought about it, but we are doing the tea right before we go to MNSSHP.... That could be an issue, however thankfully, my DDs will be princesses, so I think I'm OK! LOL

We went before MNSSHP and we were in jeans and Halloween t-shirts. You only have to dress up if you want to.

I went with my DD8 and it was wonderful. We had sundresses on as we were there for a special occasion (her bday) but there others there straight from the park in shorts and t-shirts. I couldn't believe how stuffed I was when we left there and I thought it was very inexpensive. I think no more than $45. I asked or the tea to go (it was a chilly December day) and my DD got the hot chocolate to go. I don't even drink tea but I actually bought this one and the hot chocoate was the best I have ever had!

Thank you! Sounds like a great experience. I am not a tea drinker either, but I have been given fake tea many a time by my daughter ;) Looking forward to it!

The herb tea selection is quite nice. Just today my DD was mentioning that she was looking forward to the stilton (I order the Prince's plate for variety). We do dress it up. Sundresses and hats and gloves this year, but most folk dress nice casual. There is a lovely (well it is GF) restroom to the left of the tearoom to freshen up in.

Just wondering - I plan on getting one of the kids Mrs. Potts service for my two DDs. Neither of them can have chocolate milk, so is it possible for them to get actual tea? I think they will really feel like "big girls" with real tea.:cutie:

ETA - Before anyone says it - My girls are pretty light eaters, plus they can sample off of my, and my mothers plates, so I'm not worried about them having enough food, sharing one service. :hippie:
