Afternoon Parades

Was reading on another site http://kennythepirate.com/ that there is a "rumor" that the parade at AK will be discontinued. The post goes on to mention that this could mean "no parades in Walt Disney World from January until Spring 2014 when the new Magic Kingdom parade begins." Has anyone else heard anything about this? Of course - our trip is planned for January.

If AK parade is retired, it would certainly mean there will be no DAYTIME parades during the Jan-Spring Break period. I don't consider MISICI a parade, but more of a rolling street party. Not sure about MSEP though either.

Not at all surprising. Unless they see a significant drop in attendance figures from this, then parades at all disney parks around the world will soon be a thing of the past. Just way too many CM's involved all of which seen as an unnecessary cost these days.

That is really such a disappointment. My kids are at the age where they are really into parades. I can't imagine Disney without them. Even though Epcot doesn't have parades, they do have a lot of little shows throughout World Showcase.

We were disappointed to hear that the HS parade was not going to happen and were looking forward to the parade at AK since we did not get a chance to see this w/our granddaughter last trip to Disney. Will have to wait and see I guess.
