I was wondering, if after the college program can you eventually get a full time job for disney?

In essence, the CP is a recruiting fair in disguise :P So I'm told it's actually their GOAL to keep you on. As long as they're hiring for full-time jobs after the program you can apply, and if it's a role that's not a higher-up position (basically all the roles on the program), you've pretty much got it since you have the program under your belt.

Yes you can, if they are hiring and need FTers at the position. I hope to go FT after my CP ends.

In addition to what everyone else said, in the current economy a very few amount of people are able to go FT/PT. Most people who tried to go FT following the Fall 2008 program could not get a job, so they ended up extending their programs hoping for a better chance come summer.

I am so hoping to go full time when I graduate in December.

PS the 10 post rule for sending PM's sucks! 2 posts left!

I think that's one reason why I will be attempting to extend my CP.

i somewhat know how you feel. i had applied for FT last August but i told the interviewer that i won't be available to work till March 09 (personal reasons). she said it was fine. the interview went great. it hardly felt like an interview. i was at casting for almost 2 hours. the intial interview took a little over 45 minutes for me. the lady told me i'll recieve info on my job application status if i got hired or not. if i'm not hired, it's not the end of the world. i'll try again after i do some CP's. but i'm still keeping my fingers crossed till the end of the month.

I was told by a recruiter that someone will inform all CPers when it's time to renew and give instructions on how to do so.

Really? Thats so cool. I don't even have my associated degree. Will some full time jobs hire you if you don't have a degree, because I really just want a full time job afterwards and not go back to school - is that possible - and can u get a full time job with something other then the job your doing for your cp?

"anything can happen if you let it"
lol, i've been listening to my mary poppins cd way too much! but ya, i think you should give it a go and see what happens. it can't hurt to try.

Web site Development and Design - so I was hoping to get a full time job after the program in Hospitality or something - but for the cp I got quick service food and beverage - but its a foot in the door right?

How do you go about doing that? I mean do you just tell them? Or do you have to reapply or something?

Towards the end of the CP (about a month or so before the end), information will go out on the HUB for how to extend the CP. I believe the process is done online. Make sure you keep your record card clean though, if you plan on extending.

maybe. i wouldn't really know the answer to that one. when i applied, i chose FSFB and QSFB only because i've had experience with that at a vocational school. i almost applied to the Culinary Institute of America back in 06 but then didn't. now i kinda wish i did. as much as i love to bake and stuff, i also love theatre. and that's what i'll be studing when i go to school in sept. i love those two so much that sometimes i can't decide which to major in.

I'm in web design and such too...I'm in a bit of the broad field of Multimedia. I would love to get a job in like broadcast or web design. I've always loved video editing

Yes and Yes. A degree is NOT required for any of the front line roles (which are the CP roles), some roles do not even require that you speak english. If you hope to move up into management then you'll want to be working on that degree on the side. If you are FT with Disney they will help pay for your schooling.

To switch roles you have to meet the transfer guidelines (6 months in current role, minimum points, etc.) You can request a transfer through the HUB or you can go in person to Casting.

The extension process for students currently on the Spring Program just started on Monday - it just pops up on the HUB and will be referenced in the weekly e-mail.

Was just browsing through old posts for something else and saw this. I think I should mention this in case someone else is considering it.

Education Reimbursement is a service offered to Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies to assist them in developing skills or facilitating professional growth in their current role or position, in addition to their work experience.

It is NOT the intention of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies to reimburse Cast Members and Employees for pursuing degrees or other types of pre-planned education.
