i need help...... ideas for a inexpensive dining option after Intimate Wedding at Sea Breeze Point. My dad generously agreed to pay for the Disney Wedding. He can't afford alot, but really wants to pay for it all. thanks for the ideas.

We are having dinner at Citrico's after the wedding. How many guests will be attending?

Have you thought about a buffet, maybe 1900 Park Fare? It isn't too expensive and your guest won't go away hungry....

Good luck!! :wizard: and Congratulations on your wedding!

Ohanas is a good option as it is a one priced meal, therefore can be budgeted for prior to the day.

A buffet will definitely be your least expensive table service dining option because the meal is a standard price, so you know exactly what you'll be paying. If you go to a restaurant where everyone is ordering off an a la carte menu, it will be very difficult to control the costs. People have a tendency to order a lot when someone else is paying. :)

How will you be getting your 18 guests to the restaurant? That might be a factor. If transportation is an issue, there is Cape May Buffet at Beach Club -- everyone could walk right over there. It costs $25.99 for adults, $11.99 for kids, plus beverages, tax and tip.

There are also a couple of flat-priced buffets in Epcot. Again, you and your guests could walk right over, but you won't be able to go in the park wearing your wedding attire. The Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus in Norway might be fun and costs $28.99 for adults, $13.99 for kids (includes beverages but not tax and tip). The other option is Biergarten in Germany - $23.99 for adults, $11.99 for kids, plus beverages, tax and tip.

If you have transportation lined up, then there are LOTS of buffet options to choose from. Just pick something in one of the resort hotels if you want to be able to wear your wedding dress to dinner.

The other option is to set up a prix fixe (fixed price) menu with one of the higher end restaurants, but I've looked into this and about the absolute minimum per person is $65 plus tax and tip.

Full info about all of these options is on my site - you can get to the info from the Intimate Weddings page.

Mary thank you very much for your suggestions.

I think we are gonna try O'hana's. Have never been there. I will definately look at your site.

Everyone here is so helpful. Thank you

Laura

We went to Ohanas the night before our wedding. It was also my birthday. It was great. There were party games and tons of bbq food brought to the table.
They made us feel special because it was a birthday/wedding celebration. We had floral necklaces and a birthday cake given to us too!
Brilliant option. You can also see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom too.

I think 'Ohana is a great idea. That's what we did, and it was a blast. One thing you may consider is the Disney Dining Plan, which you can add to your vacation package. Almost everyone had the Dining Plan, so we had to pay for the few stragglers, and the liquor. Not too shabby :)

HTH!!

We had a 3:00 intimate at WP and then ressies at O'Hana's for 5:20 p.m. Everything went perfect and we arrived a little after 5:00 p.m.; just in time!

Our party included 17 folks and we hosted the dinner reception as a thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled to see us get married. We were on a budget and paid under $500.00 for everyone including the tip.

The atmosphere was great, the food was great and we were acknowledged all night long ! They even have fun games for small ones. :teeth:

thank you so much. yes i think this is wat we are gonna do. i can't wait. i was thinking of ordering a cake for my Chris. like a grooms cake. do they let you do that?

Hi there,
I'm an intimate bride that was looking for reception places as well so I thought I would pass along my coordinator's comments.

It really depends entirely on whether you want to wear your dress or not? If so than the only options presented to me were the CA Grille, Jenco's (sp?), or the Desert Parties at Epcot.

If not, then Magical Gatherings agreed to help with pretty much any location you can think of but be careful to book it with them or they may not guarantee seating together! We had to actually call Ohana's manager to ensure we would be together for our rehearsal dinner!

Good luck, hope that helps?

i thought as long as it wasnt a theme park you can wear your dress? i definately want to.

does anyone know what the dessert receptions cost?

I was told that anywhere in a park was completely off limits and that only certain restaurants would allow wedding attire.

Does anyone else know if this is not the case??

You can wear your dress anywhere but one of the parks. I was told as a rule of thumb, if you need an admission ticket, you can't wear your wedding atire, anywhere else is ok. Many brides have worn their dresses to the restaurants around the different resorts. i know they have to 'Ohana for sure. The only way you can wear wedding attire in a park is if you are having a photo shoot with DPS.

WOW - I feel duped!! My coordinator flat out told me my only options were CA Grille and Jenko's for me to wear my dress and have a 'guarantee' that we would all sit together (see previous posts on this one)

Do all coordinators say this or is it just mine?! :confused3

Now my coordinator tried to make our 'Ohana ressies for 8:30 and i was told that for the 18 people we were having we could only have the ressies for 5:00 - 5:20 or 9:40 - 10:00, because they could not gurantee that we could sit together. So she may be right about seating, but I think your coordinator was misinformed regarding your dress.

FYI........it's Jiko.....not Jenko's :thumbsup2
