After Hours Events

I am confused why the first HS after hours is the same day of the week they do EMH at MK which we planned to go to

Almost all of them have been this way since the AH events started back up, with the exception of just a few dates. You basically have to pick one or the other.

I’m glad you had a great time - seems like others were frustrated, the first time I’ve seen that for an AH event.

I won’t be doing ToT or Alien, so hopefully that will make it easier on me (I still want MK, though, lol)
It’s probably because we skipped Rise. That definitely cuts into the time

No doubt. I don’t want to skip it, but it’s not an obsession with me. I imagine getting their relatively early after the start of the AH would mean a relatively short line - but it feels like something that no one can really know until they’re there

It probably would be better if they had that buffer time. Since the ride would go down after the original park guests.

I would have done it but my daughter didn’t want to and we just wanted to keep her happy since she’s only 6 and it was late 😂.

Damn that sucks. Hard to pass up a free 2 hours at MK

When I went in January I bought an ILL for Rise because I was thinking the line would have to be 30min+ during the event (it ended up being walk on twice, but SR was 25min).

If I was doing this again I would budget the ILL for Rise again though.

...and the fact that the event last night started without a 30minute buffer after park close is terrible.

With that said, GotG at the Epcot AH will be interesting...that's the only real thrill ride at the park and is so new. I can't see how they will keep that line below 45mins unless event capacity is super capped.

Easy solution for Rise if you’re willing to risk the ride malfunctioning: just get in line 5 minutes before the end of the event.

We did EEH back in April at Epcot and it wasn’t great. Frozen broke down while we were in line. Test Track was down as well (it was down pretty much the entire day) and everyone basically just went on Remy. Thought it was a total waste of time.

Everything is so spread apart in Epcot too. It’s not as quick to get from one ride to the other. Star Wars & Toy Story lands are pretty close. The only ride that’s out of the way is really ToT.

Aww, I hope she had a great time !

We went to DHS after hrs last night and we wouldn't do it again. At the end of the day we could have waited much less if we would have done a regular day with LLs and/or at rope drop for a lot less money. We're just not used to having to wait much in lines and didn't expect to at the after hrs. event especially and that just was not the case. We ended up in waiting in longer lines last night than we did during any of our regular park days throughout the week. so that was just a bummer. There were a few other things I didn't love, but at the end of the day we just felt like we got less done, waited in longer lines and had more limited time at the parks with limited things open while spending more money. In the summer a plus would be the cooler weather and a pro was having more space to walk but just not worth it for us.
