After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

We are planning to do the HS after hour after we see fantasmic. Will that eat into alot of our time? Where will we find information about the character meet and greets? Also where would you recommend we start? Tot to star wars or the other way?

After 10, was the ordered you listed the order you rode? I'm still trying to wrap my brain around everything. Also were there characters at EP during the after hours?
Yes,
After 10 we rode Guardians 3 times,
followed by Frozen twice,
followed by 3 Caballeros twice,
followed by 2 more times on Guardians.

There were bathroom breaks mixed in after 10 also. I think I saw Chip and Dale somewhere between Guardians and World Showcase, but I couldn't say where exactly. They might have been part of the dj dance party. I don't recall seeing any other characters in our travels.

I was there in early Jan last year and Guardians was a walk on after 9:30pm.
Can also confirm that there was a Chip and Dale dance party happening. We saw Pluto that night too.

Same question! We wanted to do Fantasmic too, we won’t have another night to do it.

We are also going to try to do Fantasmic. I'm thinking of getting a $LL for Rise, maybe around 7:30, then try for something up front, like ToT or go from Rise to Star Tours and see what else we can do then go to Fantasmic. After, jump on ToT, maybe RnRC (if open) and head back from there, working our way around Star Wars to TSL then MMRR, to not waste time. I also hope to do Droid Depot, but I have a backup plan as we have hoppers and no plans for 2 days later, so we can pick up rides we either missed or want to do again. My time is limited (trying not to miss more than a day of school) so I have no problem paying for the $LL or whatever it's going to be called. We tentatively have a dining reservation for 7:05 after entering the park, but I'm trying to talk them into canceling.

Has anyone been to DAH HS lately and are the crowds still heavy?

I saw that the EPCOT event this week is sold out so I'm wondering if we will be so lucky, but holding out to get on GoG at least 3 times as well as hitting Frozen and Remy each at least once. Hopefully nothing goes down!

I hadn’t heard anything about heavy crowds 😬 fingers crossed lighter.

I have heard they can be heavier if rides break down during AH.
I have an AH ticket for August and am not sure if I’ll keep it after some of the reports. There was a You Tube video from a week and a half ago that was pretty grim. Hoping this isn’t the rule.

We go end of August! I have seen mixed reviews… some good, really good, and bad.

What YouTube channel was this video on?

I can never keep straight what links we’re permitted to post… if you search “hollywood studios after hours worth 175,” it should come up. Posted 11 days ago. That said, I have seen lots more positive reviews! I’m probably going the week before you so will try to post impressions.

This thread has been very helpful with my planning! Thank you. I am hoping someone can answer my question...

We have tickets to the August AH event next week at Studios. We also have a 1-day ticket (NOT A HOPPER) for Epcot. Our plan is to leave Epcot and get to Studios for 7:00.

If we purchase the Multi-pass for Epcot, will I be able to schedule rides at Studios for 7:00 if I don't have a hopper ticket? We were trying to see if we could use the multi-pass between 7:00 and 9:00 at Studios.

It won’t give you the option to choose LL for other parks without PH on your ticket so unfortunately you won’t be able to do that.

I did DHS afterhours on August 7.

I walked into the park around 7ish. Don't remember exactly. Headed to RnRC to single rider it, but single rider was closed every time I was in DHS this trip. So I went and got a Trolley Car Cafebucks where they butchered my name like usual and headed off towards Baseline Taphouse and Star Tours. I rode Star Tours with minimal wait, got a lovely beer from BTH and headed into Galaxy's Edge. Rise was listed as a 45 minute wait. It was not. I had to chug my beer (I was not the only one) because the line was only about 15 minutes. After Rise I did single rider Millennium Falcon. By this time it was not even close to 9pm. So I wandered into Toy Story Land and road Swirling Saucers and got in line for Slinky Dog Dash while party people were lining up for the free snacks (confused pikachu face at this behaviour).

I rode Slinky around 9, did TSMM, repeated Slinky and repeated TSMM by 10pm. I wondered over to Mickey and Minnie's and rode that twice. Enjoyed some popcorn and drinks. Followed by my favourite stroll after dark at Disney. Down Sunset Boulevard. Rode RnRC 3 times, followed by 2 ToT experiences with 2 of my favourite drop sequences (I love the ones that take you to the top of the shaft). One more ride on RnRC and a quick trip to the carts to stock up on water and diet coke for the room. Cast member says here take 3 or 4, Mickey already has enough of your money.

Compared to my Epcot experience last year. DHS Afterhours was a hit. I enjoyed being able to have a clear path through the park and got to ride everything I wanted multiple times and it was just a fun atmosphere.

Sorry but no. Without a Park Hopper ticket your attempt to make a LLMP selection at HS will fail when you go to confirm your selection since it would be your Second park.

My family and I attended DHS after hours on August 14th. Compared to Epcot AH last year, this was well worth the money. We had park hopper tickets and I had purchased LLMP. We arrived around 3:00 from Epcot. The real feel temperature was 105 at the time and I was suffering! We sat for an hour drinking water and kind of napped at table, then used our LLMP, had dinner. Went to Rise sometime after 8:00pm. Wait was listed as 50 minutes. I have photos on the ride at 8:29pm (the overinflated ride times were annoying).

We split up - boys went to RNRC and TOT while husband and I went to Slinky. I lined up shortly before 9:30 to get water & soda and popcorn - -there was plenty all night and the lines were not long after the initial lineup at 9:30 - even that one was maybe 10 people. Slinky line was about 10 minutes. Then TSM which was 20 minutes - a bit long. After that, no lines were long. We walked over to get a cocktail -- this was annoying. The flyer said cocktails available at select locations, but didn't list the locations. We found them on Sunset Blvd, right before the food places. We only did those 4 rides, but multiple times. Had a few photos taken. We did not go back into Galaxy's Edge.

If I plan to do this again, I would make sure to plan a rest day in the morning, instead of Epcot. The previous day we were at MK from early entry all day and then MNNSHP. We were at Epcot at 9:00am hopped to DHS and then this event. We were exhausted and didn't do as much as we could have.

This is good intel--thank you! I will be traveling with a more "drinks and chill" group and was wondering if cocktails were available during After Hours.

We attended the 8/21 DHS AH as a party of 8. This was my first AH event and I was nervous after reading some of the DHS-specific reviews from earlier in the year that described lengthy wait times, but encouraged by the more recent reports here. Overall, we had a great time and would consider doing it again - but I'd prefer to try the MK AH first before repeating this one. We didn't go into Galaxy's Edge because we already had a LLSP booked for Rise for the following day and didn't want to risk being in line during the event if it went down.

DH, DD, and I arrived at the park around 8:45pm and checked in/received our wristbands as we entered the front gate. DD wanted Starbucks before it closed, so we went to the Trolley Car Cafe first and decided to walk slowly back to TSL in order to finish our drinks before getting on any rides. A lot of day-time park guests were busy watching Fantasmic and the Wonderful World of Animation, so we walked onto TSM at about 9:15 (3-minute wait). After a quick ice cream and popcorn stop in TSL, we walked leisurely to MMRR with our whole party and waited 14 minutes before boarding at 10:06. Then a few of us walked to RnRC (my DD's priority) and rode that once at 10:32pm (16 minute actual wait, 30 minutes posted) before grabbing another ice cream and heading back to TSM to meet as a whole party again. We waited 23 minutes there because the event was in full swing and they were running only one track (boarded at 11:15pm). The ride stopped several times while we were on it, which was a little frustrating - I know it happens, but it's a bummer to pay a premium to be stuck - especially when you can't even keep racking up points like you can if you get stuck on Buzz in MK. After finally making it off of TSM and stopping by the restroom, we headed over to SDD - posted 40 minutes, but we waited 10 and boarded at 11:47pm. DD and I grabbed another ice cream and headed back to RnRC to finish out the night. We rode that four times between 12 and 12:30am (joined by some of our family for the last ride of the night), then grabbed another ice cream and several bottles of water on our way out (CMs were encouraging guests to take as much as they wanted). We did notice that the cart by RnRC only had water as we were leaving, and the cart in front of ToT/Fantasmic was running out of regular Coke during our final stop.

I kind of wish we had coordinated as a group in advance to move through the park in one direction rather than bouncing back and forth, but I'm still happy with what we got done and we had a fantastic time together.

We didn't seek out any character M&Gs but did see Stitch meeting in front of MMRR. I saw another poster report that Jiminy Cricket was meeting - I probably would have stopped if I had seen him.
