After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

We attended DAH at HS on 5/22/2024 and had a fantastic time. We arrived via Skyliner around 6:35pm and had to wait until exactly 7pm before we were allowed to enter. Here is a list of what we were able to accomplish:

Star Tours
Purchased blue milk for daughter
Millennium Falcon
Alien Swirling Saucers
Slinky Dog Dash
Rise of the Resistance
Tower of Terror
Mickey bars, ice cream sandwiches and drinks
Toy Story Midway Mania
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway - this was down early in the night
Rise of the Resistance
Slinky Dog Dash
Toy Story Midway Mania
Slinky Dog Dash x 2 - first ride ended at 12:29am and we rushed back in line for a second time

We were not interested in character meets but I did see the following as we crisscrossed the park several times: Stitch, Jiminy Cricket, Meeko, Tiana, and Chewbacca. We walked out of the park around 12:40am and waited for a bus to Boardwalk because we just didn't feel like walking back to the hotel.

We attended DAH at Epcot on 5/23/2024 and had a fantastic time. We arrived at the International Gateway via the walkway from Boardwalk around 6:45pm and they were already letting the after hours folks into the park. Here is a list of what we were able to accomplish:

Slow walked around World Showcase - it was packed!
Grand Fiesta - there was actually a 5-10 min wait for this ride at the time
Mission Space Green - wanted Orange but there was a 75 minute wait!
Spaceship Earth
Connections Eatery - pizza was delicious (this was right at 9pm because as we walked to Soarin we saw part of the fireworks)
Soarin x 2 (they were only loading section B because there were so few people)
Test Track
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"
Mission Space Orange
Drinks and ice cream
Test Tract x 2
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - "Conga", "Disco Inferno", and "September"

I was so happy that we had different songs on each Guardians ride. Also, the DJ outside the ride was amazing! Our original plan was to walk back over to ride Frozen and Remy at the end of the night but we enjoyed GotG so much that we decided to forgo those two rides and re-ride GotG. Our next to last GotG ride ended at 12:52am and we hurried back in line for one last ride of the night. We exited the park around 1:30am and walked back to Boardwalk.

DAH at HS and EP on back to back nights were the first DAH we have ever attended. We had a wonderful time at both and thought they were a great value for the price paid. We replaced two regular park days at HS and EP with DAH instead and it was a great decision for us. The low wait times and lower temperatures made both nights near perfect for us!

I thought I read somewhere that certain World Showcase routes were closed during EPCOT AH. Is that correct? Can you enter all 3 ways from the rest of the park, or is it only 1 entry point?

The main entrance and International Gateway are open to enter Epcot. Those are the only 2 entrances to the park.

During the event, the pathway through World Showcase after Norway and through to France is closed.

I did a search but did not find the exact answer I was looking for.

Do I understand this correctly? If I buy DAH for HS I pay the DAH cost for that day but I do not need to buy a park ticket?

This year I purchased 6 days of passes and use them as follows- 2 park days a rest day 2 park days a rest day and 2 park days. If I buy the DAH I could buy 5 passes and go 2 park days a rest day/DAH add a second rest day, 2 park days a rest day and 1 park day. So, I cut the cost of a ticket and replace it with the cost of DAH.

It might also effectively cut the cost of GENIE+ and ILL for that day?

I've never done DAH, nor have I read anything related to G+ with that.
I would assume that DAH defeats the purpose of G+ and isn't needed. You might also save a little by not buying G+ or $ILL on another park day at DHS.
By adding the 3rd rest day , you will be adding an extra night / accommodation cost.

We go for 9 nights so that will not change

I was thinking the DAH would be our only HS day

If you buy a DAH ticket, you gain entry at 7pm (about 2 hours before park closing depending on DHS schedule for the day) and do not need a regular park ticket. You do not have all day access with the DAH ticket.

7 until 12:30 is plenty of time.
AH does not usher out day guests early like the Halloween/Christmas parties. Day guests are allowed to jump in line right before close, so the more popular rides could still have quite a line at close. Sometimes it can take a while for the park to feel empty. You really won’t have the true AH experience until between 9:30 and 10:00. When we do an AH, we either get a drink or a snack and sit for 30 minutes at close or we hit something that generally doesn’t have line, like Alien Swirling Saucers or Star Tours. People will also still be milling around trying to stay in the park for pics, but CMs try to pinpoint who shouldn’t be there and request they leave. HS is the worst park for this, imo.

This might sound like a silly question... but can you still do rider swap for the Afterhours party? I tried to search and see if i could find an answer and couldn't. I know most things will be a walk on and won't be an issue, but we are going to HS afterhours and with so few attractions, I've seen where there are some nights where the big ticket rides never are. Mainly asking because my son might decide not to do TOT or Slinky. If there is never a walk on type of wait, like 25-40 mins, will they let us do the rider swap?

I am going to the HS DAH in August. I got a dining reservation for 7:05. What are my chances of making it? I've read most people got in early while a couple said they did not. I prefer the dinner time to wait for the park to clear. We do have another day tentatively scheduled in case we aren't able to get everything done. I'm more interested in not being late for our reservation. Thanks!

For a recent EPCOT AH, they let us in about a half hour early. You usually get a 10 to fifteen minute grace period for dining reservations, so I think you'll be fine.

Has anyone done an EPCOT AH since Test Track is down? I can't imagine one ride changing the standby lines much for AH, but just curious what everyone is seeing for most rides (our goal is GoG 3 times along with doing Remy and Frozen once).

We did EPCOT AH on Thursday June 20. Had a fabulous time.

Here is what we accomplished after being let in at 6:30pm:
- The Seas with Nemo including an obligatory manatee visit (They were napping)
- Living with the Land
- 7:40 dinner reservations at Le Cellier
- Luminous finale in Canada Pavilion
- Journey into Imagination with Figment
- Soarin'

After 10pm:
- Guardians x 3
- Frozen x 2
- 3 Caballeros x 2
- Guardians x 2

We could've easily snuck in Remy earlier, but opted for less lines and more shopping. Even with multiple bathroom breaks, I feel like we accomplished a lot despite Test Track being closed. I would recommend EPCOT AH.

Thanks for this mini review. We actually have considered doing dinner BEFORE the AH starts (like hitting up Geyser Point or Ale & Compass, both of which we've never made it to before but are on our list... vs getting some QS food when we got into EPCOT. It's nice to see that you got so much done even with a table service meal at EPCOT after 7pm...

We plan to arrive in Orlando around 3pm so we will have a few hours to kill before we head to EPCOT. We are staying at PO:FQ that night.

After 10, was the ordered you listed the order you rode? I'm still trying to wrap my brain around everything. Also were there characters at EP during the after hours?
