You've gotta love the ENTHUISASM that would send someone to Boardwalk to see "Beaches and Cream" and to "shop".
You will be "wandering" the Boardwalk a LONG TIME looking for "Beaches and Cream".
The confusion factor on these threads can get totally out of hand in a hurry.
I just kept reading, and no one made the point very CLEARLY, so:
"Beaches and Cream" has nothing to do with "Boardwalk".
B&C was there long before Boardwalk was ever built.
It is directly ACROSS THE LAKE from Boardwalk at the Beach Club Resort.
You CAN walk there from Boardwalk, but is not exactly "next door".
In fact, it is physically located about as far from the "center" of Boardwalk as you can get on the circle path.
Its like sending someone to the Norway pavilion in Epcot in order to get to the UK pavilion from there.
It can be done but, its not a good way to do it.
You can take the boat from the Swan/Dolphin and get to B&C more easily than walking, for sure.
A boat departs from Boardwalk that goes directly across the lake to there as well.
I love the Boardwalk, yes, I do love the Boardwalk...
but SHOPPING is simply not one of its principal (or unique) charms.
Again, there is virtually NO "shopping," in the sense of a multitude of shops, at Boardwalk.
By that I mean Boardwalk is simply not a shopping AREA, it primarily contains restaurants and bars. And yes, its very nice.
This does not mean there is nothing to buy.
It means that there is only a resort gift shop with mostly items that are found at every other resort gift shop (its on the "water-front" rather than inside the resort lobby) and a couple of other small store-fronts ...about the same kind of shopping as going to other premium WDW resorts.
There is an ESPN shop at/near the ESPN bar as well.
But there is MUCH more "shopping" to be found on, say, Main Street at Magic Kingdom.
It would be like sending a busload of people to "shop" at the Poly.
Its OK, but its not what I'd call a "shopping area".
There are about 4 or 5 small shops at Boardwalk.
