IM. Way back in May, never even noticed it until tonight.

here it is:
I guess your post offended me!!! With all the other posts...Pembo's brain tumor, someone else burned in a fire, Delswife's mother seriously ill...Do you really have the time to commemorate your dog's birthday? Maybe you should consider donating some of your time to a charity that needs it!!! Sorry, but I don't even know when my dogs were born. Get a life!!!

I don't even remember what I posted or when. Tried replying but they are not receiving. Someone who has 18 posts, but sure knows a lot about everyone on the board. BTW in case they are reading -- I don't read every post because I have a life. I might have logged on for 10 min. and decided to reply to a dog birthday thread. So as my dog would say -- BITE ME!!!
P.S. I volunteer for lots of charities, I'm in the process of planning an event right now for CF.

You don't have to defend yourself from garbage like this! I can't believe someone would do somethng like that. Well, I can believe it...I am just shocked. Talk about needing a life !

Look at the bright side. Think how it must have ticked them off when you never responded !

Don't take that IM to heart. I sometimes get depressed by all the messages of sad happenings. Then it is great to see a message which is light hearted. So, just keep posting whatever comes to mind. There are always some people who are looking for something to get their feelings hurt over.

Oh dear, must be due to the influence of the mean and nasty DBers. ;)

Don't let them bother you. Considering how much "fluff" is here on a daily basis!

Consider the source and forget it!
It takes all kinds!!

 Sandie

 Don't worry about it. I once got a nasty email about an eBay description. I had a pair of pants up for sale that didn't fit anymore because I had lost a lot of weight. I put that info in the description to imply that the pants were still in great shape & I was only getting rid of them because they didn't fit. Some lady emailed me & said "How dare you make me feel bad about my weight by bragging about your weight loss!" Don't let it bother you- sounds like the person that sent that PM needs to get a life instead of you! :D

Don't let it get to ya, Kallison. Always a few clods in the bunch, ignore them.

Hey dont feel bad, my dog gets a B-day present, Stocking at Christmas, Presents under the tree, and easter basket (and ironically he is not that religious!) LOL!

Seriously, someone took the time to IM about that and you dont have a life?!!!

No worries...and I agree with the above posters..you dont have to defend or explain yourself to this person!

This is the community board, not the bad-news board. I know people come here for support and sympathy, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun too! If you want to celebrate your dog's birthday more power to you. :D

More people need to understand that if you don't like what you're reading online, you can click the little X in the corner and not have to see it anymore. No need to start the personal insults.

Consider the source.
And by that I mean... do they really have a case for justifying telling YOU that you need to get a life if you have time to discuss a dog's birthday when apparently they have even LESS of a life if they have time to not only read it- but send you a PM griping you out about it?

LOL
They obviously have less life than you do! (going by their theory that one must not have a life if they post about things certain other's deem a waste of time)

OMG - mad because you commemorated your dog's birthday!!! Well, my family is a bunch of nuts, I guess. My daughter's dog just turned 3 on May 25 and we had a special "party" complete with Pedigree Lamb wet food (it's a splurge for him) and a party game complete with hiding bits of dog treats around the house and leading him around to find them. (That's a run-on sentence, BTW, if anyone wants to send me a nasty IM about it) Guess it was a waste of my time when I should've been here on the Dis acknowledging strangers' (most of them) posts regarding their hardships. Sheesh!!!

Guess I need to get a life. :confused3

Try to ignore it. ::yes::

I think we all get them. I think of pm's like that as pinhead messages.;)

BTW, Happy Birthday to your doggy.:teeth:

Yes, there are many awful things in this world, but if everyone dwelled on them constantly we would all be miserable and there would be no point in living.

Keeping posting about your pup, delete the PM and move on with your life. That person is obviously way to serious and probably leads a very sad life. Maybe they should get a pet for companionship. I, for one, find so much joy in my cats and it brings me just as much happiness when others find joy in theirs.

Don't let it bother you- sounds like the person that sent that PM needs to get a life instead of you!
You took the words right out of my mouth.
