Has anyone been able to get a dinner ADR for a time later than 5pm? I've been trying for 9/11. I have called back numerous times, including within the suggested 3 weeks out window, to no avail. My next shot will be to try asking for a table for 3, not 2. MGM is open till 8:30pm that night. My problem is that I want to see the parade, which turns out to be at 5pm!
I may try for lunch at Mama Melrose, instead of dinner. anyone know what time the lunch menu ends, and the dinner menu begins? Still hoping for dinner at 6pm tho........

if you are booking using the My way dining then it is my understanding that you cannot get a ressie after 5PM.....you have the option of buying ANOTHER package for MM, H&V and Brown Derby to get the "good" seats for the show.

at least that is how i understand it...maybe it will change...

That is the first I have ever heard of this? Where did you hear this?

ADR's should be available to all parties the same - MYD or FDP or no package at all. I think they just don't want to staff the restaurant unless they know it will be full so they only open times slots a few at a time.

I think the 2nd poster is refrencing the Fantasmic dinner package at MM (and H&V and BD)...that is not included in the dining plan, would need to be paid for out of pocket. For regular meal reservations I have not heard of any time restrictions, just availability.

Huh? WLWEEMS writes, "if you are booking using the My way dining then it is my understanding that you cannot get a ressie after 5PM"

WLWEEMS mentions the FDP in reference to good seats for Fantasmic - which again, has no bearing on ADR times.

Hi lamchop! We are going to be there about the same time and have been trying for several weeks to get an evening reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table for the 8th of September. We FINALLY were able to get one this past week so perhaps the evening hours are not "open" yet for MGM that day? Keep trying - it does pay off!

Yeah... I am not sure what my point was....I guess I was reading (and then typing) too quickly and missed what was being said ...LOL...

Anyways, I have gotten ADR's for other restaurants for after 5 and we will be using the dining plan so it does not appear to me to be restricted.

I agree, I don't think it is restricted, just they aren't booking later hours so they don't have to staff a restaurant if there is no demand.

I actually just called again about Mama Melrose on 10/2. Nothing after 5 PM still. I'll try again later.

Later hours will open up for the MGM restaurants between 30 days and 3 weeks from the date that you want to dine there. This is true whether you are interested in the FDP or not and it has nothing to do with any dining package. This is how it has worked for MGM restaurants for several years now. Who knows why, but it has been that way for our last several trips. I usually go ahead and make the earlier ADR time (just in case) then call back starting at 30 days from the date. I've always been able to get the later time.

Happy planning! :)

Hi OP back..... talked to Disney Dining this AM. they said for that particular day 9/11/05, mamma melrose will be closing early, with the last dinner ADR at 5pm. doesn't matter if it's regular dining, free dining package, or Fantasmic package. I did take a 3:30pm time, which is the earliest they will serve using the dinner menu. THe cast member said there was no notation as to why they were closing early that day. I will try agian when we're down there for a later time, but it sounded like a done deal. Good luck to everyone wtih their ADR's!!!
