Aerobed-will full fit in studio? and what is a studio deluxe?

I am trying to decide whether I should purchase a twin size aero bed to take to use in our BCV studio when we go to WDW in April. We have a 12 year old son and an almost 8 year old daughter. In order for them to be able to have their own bed, (and to allow mom and dad to bunk together for a week) we are going to have to do something. I just read about a studio plus or deluxe that has a daybed, but I think it may be too small for our 8 year old. I hadn't heard of those type of rooms before- do you have to request for them? We have a full size aerobed that we can take, but I am unsure if it will be too big for a studio size unit. Has anyone used one? Or should I break down and buy a smaller twin?

BWV is the only DVC resort that has the studio plus rooms. It has the same bedding as the other studio rooms (one queen and one full sofa sleeper) and in addition has a small daybed. The daybed is only about 4 feet long and IMHO, only a small child would be able to use it for a bed. The studio plus rooms are also known as dedicated studios. The daybed occupies the space that is normally the space for the connecting door.

I do not think a full size aero bed will fit in the BWV studios if you also plan to use the sofa pull out. I believe that the BCV studios are the same size as the "regular" BWV studios, but since I have never strayed in one, I cannot be sure that the full size aero bed is too big for the BCV units. I'm sure someone else will post - there have been several posts regarding the aero beds and quite a few DVC'rs have experience fitting the various sizes in the studios and one bedroom units.

Enjoy the trip!

That daybed is not something an 8 year old could sleep on. It's a nice little seat to sit on to put your shoes on but that's about it. There is a lot of room by the door when you come in but not sure if a full size air mattress will fit. Also by the sink is another good size area but then again, not sure of the size. We've had balconies that were large enough though. LOL!

We stayed in a studio at BCV in Dec. I can't think anywhere that a full aerobed would fit. A single would fit near the door, but would block it somewhat.

You could not use the sleeper sofa at all and have the kids camp out on the floor in two single aero beds. - Or one of them on the couch.

I stayed at BWV in a studio last month and used my full size Aero Bed too.

I did have the sleep sofa open as well. First, once you are ready to open the sleeper for the night, move the table and two chairs down towards the door near the bathroom. The full size Aero Bed will fit just at the foot of the sleeper when it is open.

My teens detest sharing a bed and this affords them each their own sleep space. They take turns each night for the Aero Bed. Since it is so easy to inflate, I took it down each morning and deflated it. After putting away the sleeper and returning the table and chairs to their spot, everything was good as new with lots of space again. Well worth it for the peace and quiet it affords us at night! LOL!!

Carol Ann,
That sounds great- do you think that the configuration of the BWV studio mirrors the BCV's as far as floor space goes? Has anyone else done this at the BCV's? I would like to not have to spend more $ ( save more for spending money there :) ) if I could.
But I will break down and get a twin if the full won't work.

Northwest Territory makes an air mattress that is queen when left flat and folds to a double thick twin bed. It comes with the electric airpump in the box ( I have a DD7 and DS11 and this keeps them happy while in a studio). I don't know the configuration of BWV, but folded it fit at WLV!

I stayed in a bcv studio, and borrowed my sisters queen aerobed. and yes it fit with sofabed open and all. my teen sons detest sleeping together as well.

It was a close fit, but thats the beauty of the aerobed, it deflates in under a minute and the room goes back to normal.

I'm so glad to see that a double aero will fit! I just bought one from one of the AOL deal of the day things that they have on the "welcome" page. I think I paid $79 for it, too and it's a double!!!!
My boys (14 and 17)won't share a bed either so this will make life easier.
Now, does anyone know if the double aero will fit at the YC in a standard room?

YC standard room should sleep you all without the aerobed, there is a twin sized daybed in those rooms which my 14 y\o slept on comfortably.

If you need the aerobed there it will deffinately fit.

We were at the YC concierge in the summer and my 14 yr. old also slept on the day bed. I was just wondering if all the units had the day bed and if they are twin size. I seem to remember being in a room a couple of years ago where there was a smaller day bed or no day bed at all...
Thanks!

snail message sent as well. YC has both rooms listed as standard options on the disney.com website. I would just request the one with the daybed. You can have many more special accomadations met when you stay non dvc.

What is an aerobed? Is it a blow up mattress?

We used our full size aero bed last August at BCV. It fit in the entry area perfectly. That way we didn't have to move too much furniture and nobody tripped over it to go to the bathroom.

Yes, an aero bed is an inflatable mattress. I got mine from the AOL "Deal of the Day" and I only paid $79 for it. We have a twin also, and I paid $100 for that a few years ago.
The aero bed comes with the pump, and inflates and deflates in seconds. It is GREAT! We use it all the time here at home when the kids have friends sleeping over.

Thanks Mickey 7861 and everyone else for your help! I am happy to hear that we can take our full sized aerobed to the BCV studio. I can save a few dollars and not have to buy a twin. You all are the best! :)
