AE points-Loews qualifying stays?

Hi- I recently made three ressies at the PBH. 2 were American Express points the other ressie was calling AE and them giving me a AAA rate.
I called Loews to see if they would count these as qualifying stays. At that point Joe from Loews said he was not sure and would get back to me. He did get back to me today and continued to tell me that coorprate is still figuring it out. Huh?

Does anyone here know the answer? I feel as if since I spent the money on my AE platinum card why wouldn't a point stay qualify? It would be a 12 night stay total, so it's a big deal to me.

The whole "qualifying rate" thing seems to be so inconsistent. I've booked through Travelocity (or maybe it was Expedia) and I've booked at the discounted Entertainment rate and received points for both of those stays. Both of which weren't supposed to be qualifying stays. Hopefully Joe will get back to you soon with a big "yes"!
