[ADVISORY] WDW - MagicBand-Only Testing Begins at Disney's Pop Century Resort

LMAO! He/she is a (frustrated?bored?annoyed?) CM pretending to be an official Disney rep. Which is a violation of so very many rules of their job. They want to post advisories, fine. They want to start spouting off how other CM feel about guests and how they talk about them? Then they've crossed the line because of how they are presenting their self.

And nice to know that all the users that have been keeping this board up to date and informed were just wasting their time because they didn't post threads called advisories. FWIW, I warned people back in Oct that this was coming and I knew what resort it was going to happen to well over a week before the hub posted this. I wasn't free to share that specific information so I didn't. I'm glad someone felt more free to post it so people knew about it before being blindsided. I also don't share the specific troubles the front lines are really dealing with because it will do nothing to help plan a Disney vacation. There is no rhyme or reason to why these issues are cropping up so no reason to waste time speculating about them or to moan and groan over them.

The advisories are simply FAQs from the real HUB, complete with the Q&A parts. Anyone with a log in has access to this information so I'm glad you are appreciative over their excellent cut and paste skills.

I don't care who he/she is, (I don't make personal remarks, I consider it rude) but I do appreciate the information that has been offered and has been extremely helpful. And in case you missed the boat, (sorry, the cruise has me all "nautical") this is a Disney Forum. Where else would we "moan and groan" but here? We have been speculating since this whole test began because Disney is messing with OUR vacations. And picking on someone who is just trying to help is, IMO, just plain snarkiness.

Sorry Delmar, I'm glad the Hub posted up the information he did. I'm not staying at Pop, but I find this whole FP+ implementation fascinating. Also, I am invested in WDW through DVC and I like to have a feel for what is going on at WDW. If I feel Iger is hurting the parks through his cutbacks in maintenance and training, then it's time for me to sell off my DVC shares.

When Pete from the Dis says he feels the CMs are becoming ambivalent to their jobs then I will take notice and see if anybody else is noticing the same thing.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I really shouldn't say anything more, because it will either get me a warning or head towards closing down thread. (which HAS been very helpful for many people!!!)

All I'll defend is "The Hub" The Hub has never pretending to be an official Disney rep, but instead has shared "REAL" and "CORRECT" information to others and has done their best to keep things on facts!!!

How dare you and your holier-than-thou persona come on here and trash what they have done.

Glad you had all the answers before everyone, to bad you just don't GET IT!!!

WOW!!!

I am also grateful for this information - this thread and the DIS boards in general. We are going to be at Pop in December and at least now have information about what is happening with the FP-. We are not changing resorts - and most of us have APs, so as I understand it, will still be able to use the FP-, but even if we can't, we will still have an awesome time! But at least we won't be blindsided when we get there and don't receive KTTW cards - we'll know what's going on thanks to HUB. So, thank you to all those who share information to help us Disers make informed decisions about our vacations!

I've learned some useful stuff from this thread. Not so much from your post.

WE ARE NOT NORMAL guests.

Some people read this and see... we are not [normal guests].

I look at this and see... we are [not normal] guests. I think the latter is more accurate! :rotfl2:

Thank you for clearing that up, Mr. Iger. :rotfl2:

Um, I think that's the point. We are appreciative of his/her cut and paste skills because we don't have access to the hub and Disney has decided to be ridiculously clandestine and uninformative with people's hard earned vacation money.

This just reads as someone who is jealous of the attention The Hub is getting. :crazy2: At least post something useful if you feel the need to post.

To The Hub: Thank you :wave2:

Could you be any more rude?

As for The Hub, maybe this is a CM who is sad to see the current mess that Disney has created and is trying to help smooth things over a little. If Disney itself wasn't being so secretive then we wouldn't even be having this discussion. However since Disney has decided to use people as lab rats and charge them large amounts of money for that then those here who have trips planned are eager for any morsel of information. The Hub is definitely being kind by sharing what has been shared already.

It's also nice to get an indication of the front line troubles because personally I feel a little more inclined to be patient when I understand what is happening. CM's don't look good right now because they don't know what's going on and they continually tell people different things that make no sense. That has nothing to do with anything The Hub said.

Disney has decided to be ridiculously clandestine and uninformative with people's hard earned vacation money.

Agree.

Poor customer relations for Disney to try to keep secret what it is testing at Pop.

At least post something useful if you feel the need to post.

Delmar HAS posted much useful information about FP+ testing over the past several months.

Hub has also posted useful information.

Thanks to both of you!

This. THIS is my biggest problem with Disney right now. I get that they're testing but to be so close-mouthed over giving out information that affects all of our vacations and the planning is just not the Disney I know. I don't know what the heck policy makers are thinking but just word of mouth right now is not showing in Disney's favor. They've always been known to set the standard for customer service excellence and this mess they've created is not reflecting that excellence at all. It's not just the testing/weekly changing, but the fact that not one CM will give you the same answer twice. I don't blame the CM's, I blame Disney for not sharing information and training that will make the CM's effective. If the CM's are not effective and they are the front line between policy makers and visitors, then somewhere, the Disney excellence has broken down.

Well said! I agree

We spend thousands at Disney resort (as do many if not most guests) and deserve to know what we are getting and to make an informed decision about our vacations and hard earned money.

100% agree!! The higher up CM that I talked to last night who changed my Pop Century reservation was very adamant in letting me know what a great system this is going to become. But he told me the only way that it can become this great system is if they have… And I said "guinea pigs? "To which he said "well yes to put it bluntly ". That's where I said "well I'm sorry I'm not spending my vacation being Disney's guinea pig. "To which he said "yes ma'am I can completely understand that and a year from now when the system is top-of-the-line one of the best in the world you'll see why we had to do these things ".

I understand Disney has to test the system but they don't need to be forcing it upon people. They should be offering discounted rooms, cheaper park tickets, more incentives to their test subjects. They just want their cake and eat it too right now with this test. I'm not doing it!

So the question is.... do I keep a reservation at pop for March 7-14 or transfer to another resort??

March is too far away to know what to do. I would bet that by March it will be other resorts, maybe all of them.

So I'm struggling a little. I leave for my trip in 7 more wake ups. I am beyond excited b/c I finally get to see the Christmas decorations. I never thought I'd be able to go b/c work is crazy this time.of year. Well work is making me take a.week off unpaid so I picked a week that was good for me. =) I am staying at Pop...I know this means I will not be able to pull regular fast passes. I do feel this puts me at a.disadvantage. Thing is I'm trying to figure out how much having access to FP_ would really impact my trip. I will be at rope drop and ride til it gets crazy in that park and then hop where I have my FP+ ressies already made....and they were made before the tiers so I have the headliners I want. Am I just a.sucker thinking that not having FP_ won't ruin my trip? I do like to ride rides multiple times but thinking if I'm.at RD I can still ride Space and Big Thunder a few times in a row before it gets crazy. I don't think FP_ would be available in the afternoon park either.

I understand. I asked this "manager" twice to confirm that I could in fact have access to the old system with the KTTW card I would receive and she said yes. So this manager is either completely clueless (which I'm sure she's not) or she is lying. If she lied to me she's going to hear about it and so will disney.

My guess is she wasn't lying, but on the clueless side... as I said before, be prepared to not be able to use FP-

Sorry, I just saw your other post that you switched resorts. Smart move :) Enjoy your trip, and still post back on any obersvations!
