Hello! I hope you have a fantastic time at DL! I grew up going to WDW every year for family vacation, but then went to college in southern CA and ended up staying here after graduation. Though it did take me a while to warm up to/ get used to the DL resort, I now embrace it as my Disney home away from home. So, here's my two cents:
1. What gives you that Disneyland feel that keeps you coming back?
Interactions with friendly guests and CMs, the sights and smells, and the "so happy I can't contain it" grin I get on face when I enter the Disney property.
2. What is your favorite on-site meal (quick service and table service) at either park?
I really enjoy the teriyaki chicken at chinese restaurant at the fisherman's wharf area in DCA... and despite my healthy food tendancies, I've recently fallen in love with the hand-dipped corn dogs (which I have hated all my life) at the red cart on main street... de-lish!
3. Where do you go on property that is a little out-of-the-way to beat the crowds and get a bit of Disney relaxation?
4. What is your favorite minor or quirky attraction that is Disneyland unique?
My answer for both 3 & 4 is Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Seeing this show is the highlight of each and every one of my DLR trips. If you don't like shows, this may not be of any help. But if you enjoy comedy, give it a try! Although, it comes with a crowd (audience) It's a great 45 min. break from the day in an air-conditioned theater
