Ok so it looks like 8 of my fiances family now are not going to be coming to the wedding.

I was originally going to be having my reception in the Asbury room as there would have been 30 of us! Now its only 22 i feel the room will be too big!

Im gettting married at the Yacht club gazebo so i want to keep my reception relatively close by - especially as we are doing an epcot dessert party after!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have thought of Ariels but we are doing a white and gold christmas theme and i didnt really think this would go?

Any ideas would be great! :bride:

Where is the Abury room? Is that at the Yacht club? We are considering the St James room and Ptio at the boarwalk...it is a nice size but not like a ballroom and is very nice w/ a patio. It is the boardwalk's equivelent to the whitehall at the GF! It is also just across the way from the gazebo, the guests could actually just hop on the boat! Just at thought good luck!

Hey-

We were suppsed in to be in Asbury A-C for 100 people. We're in A and B now at 70. I think you might be right about being swallowed by the room. We're a bit worried about it, too. They said with the landscpae packages, we should be just fine and no one will notice.

Have you considered the landscaping packages? They will help fill in the walls and height of the ceiling. Additionally, the tulle canopy might work well for you as it will lower the ceiling and create a more intimate feeling. The gobos on the walls will help bring the room in, too.

Can you invite friends to... wrong choice of word here but I can't think of another one... "replace" (not in THAT sense!) the 8 that will be unable to attend? Is there a smaller function room at the Yacht Club?

What about moving over and having your reception at the Yachtsman Steak House? It's an excellent restuarant! They might be very willing to work with you. You also have Shula's Steak House (excellent!) at the Dolphin; and, Palio at the Swan. You have access to EpCot thorough the Boardwalk. You're not too far from France at that point- Les Chefs de France is excellent. Your guests would have to have a ticket to enter the park, however.

You have plenty of options! Talk to your EM. Another option, if you wanted to have the reception somewhere a bit further, rent one of the huge Hummer or Ecalade limos and transport everyone as a group. The short time you do have in the limo could prove to be great fun! :goodvibes

We were going to be having the reception in Asbury A only - i like the idea of the landscaping though - i will have to talk to my EM about it! Thanks.

The St James ballroom and patio sound nice - does anyone have any pics of that?
