Hi all,

I'd like your opinions please. I just found out that I will not be needing a 2BR villa that I had reserved for 6 nights in October (some friends can't come). It is a guaranteed BW view and I was wondering if it would be better for me financially to try the e-bay route as I have heard of people getting up to $15/pt there for rentals. I would normally just rent the points here on the board but it's such a great reservation I'd rather keep it and rent it out as is. I also think the guaranteed BW view values it at more than $10 per point.

Any thoughts or comments? At 250 points total it certainly makes sense for me to consider all options!

I say give eBay a try. It only costs about $5 to list an item. I have gotten up to $23 a point on eBay.

Or you could cancel your reservation and give another member the opportunity for this reservation. Then just bank your points if you are not going to use them.

I haven't rented on ebay except a couple of times several years ago when I had a reservation someone backed out on. I am told that you must become "verified" through Square Trade to rent accomodations now. You might ask nuthut about this as I believe he does rent there. I wouldn't think it's be worth the hassle and expense to do so.

I have not used eBay in over a year because I have not had any extra points. The repeat renters just keep coming back and using all the available points. eBay's square trade deal changes $7.50 a month for the verifcation which is a total rip off...

I say cancel the reservation and let another Member be able to stay.
