Hi:goodvibes
Does anyone have advice/tips for bringing a grandchild to WDW. I'm mostly concerned about passing through customs without the parents. We could travel through TO or Detroit. Any suggestions at all would be helpful.

You will need a notorized letter from both the parents to take the child out of the country. It can cost as little as $35 to do this but it's more likely to cost around $60.

There is info on the government travel site that can help with this. I don't have the link any more but I'm sure someone will post it for you.

Yes, you need the letter, both the U.S. and Canada take this quite seriously (I expect due to cases where one parent leaves without the other parent's knowledge). I guy at my work is a commissioner of public record (I think?), same thing as a notary. He did it as a favour.

But I've done this and two other families who have as well. If you have the letter, you shouldn't worry, you'll have no problem.

I found a copy of the letter on the Passport Canada website. I needed one when I travelled home from Orlando without my DH.
