Advice: Tackling the Kitchen Sink?

my hubby woud love one as a no way jose:worship:

Me too, I'd order one then.

By the time I got through "leave out the coffee and mint ice cream, the strawberry sauce, the pineapple sauce, in fact any type of overly sweet fruit sauce, the gummi bears, the banana bread, the angel food cake, the sprinkles, and just put extra fudge and peanut butter on it" I might as well just buy the No Way Jose. Or two.

My family of 4 which includes DS 9 and DD 8 will be going to Beaches and Cream for the first time this next trip.... I'm not even going to tell the kids about the Kitchen Sink, want it to be a surprise, but we (wife and I) plan on taking this on with the kids there to help enjoy it.

My question is, would you make the Sink itself lunch or would you eat lunch, burgers and such at Beaches & Cream and then have the Kitchen Sink??? OF course we don't have to eat the whole thing, but I don't want to waste my money either... not sure, for those that have eaten this, did you have a meal first and then tack it on as dessert or just go for the ice cream straight out?

I would make the sink lunch itself, then go form there if you are still hungry why not!
I never get it cause usually it is just myself and DS son on vacation, but this eyar 2 other adults are coming, so kitchen sink here we come :thumbsup2

On one of our trips, our family of 4 ordered 2 lunches of hamburgers and french fries and split them between us. At the time, DS was 10 and DD was 7. Then we had the kitchen sink!:thumbsup2

It is a BLAST to try, and I HIGHLY recommend trying it at least once, BUT...

I would not let the kids get it for lunch! They will be miserably full for the rest of the night. I'd say do it for a late dinner so they can go home after and not try to walk around a hot park with their stomachs full of ice cream! :sad2:
(I did it for lunch once and regretted it!)

If you don't like peanut butter sauce - be sure to tell them to hold it or substitute more caramel or hot fudge. I took a big spoonful of what I thought was caramel sauce only to get a big bite of peanut butter. I'm not a fan of peanut butter on my ice cream - I did not like that at all! :p
