My family of 4 which includes DS 9 and DD 8 will be going to Beaches and Cream for the first time this next trip.... I'm not even going to tell the kids about the Kitchen Sink, want it to be a surprise, but we (wife and I) plan on taking this on with the kids there to help enjoy it.

My question is, would you make the Sink itself lunch or would you eat lunch, burgers and such at Beaches & Cream and then have the Kitchen Sink??? OF course we don't have to eat the whole thing, but I don't want to waste my money either... not sure, for those that have eaten this, did you have a meal first and then tack it on as dessert or just go for the ice cream straight out?

That thing looks huge (I wouldn't touch it personally, too much stuff mixed together for me) so I wouldn't eat much if you intend to make inroads on the ice cream. How much can the kids eat?

I'd say daughter will eat between one bite and one scoop. Never know which day she will actually decide to eat something. Son takes after me and probably would eat 3 scoops. But I am afraid if they have lunch they will just look at the ice cream, but on the other hand I can't get past the idea of ice cream actually being the lunch..... maybe we eat lunch at noon in EPCOT and then go for the kitchen sink 2-3 hours later.

How good is the food at Beaches and Cream? Not to miss or not a big deal?

Still if anyone actually ate a meal and then the Sink please let me know. Interested to hear your thoughts.

I have never been to Beaches and Cream (yet!) but...

I think making it "ice cream for lunch" would be more fun, and more of a silly memory for the kids. I also worked out that if you all ordered a dessert, it would have been more expensive than the kitchen sink - so don't feel guilty!

Enjoy and good luck :rotfl:

Kitchen Sink is for sure a "meal in itself". No way I would order burgers, fries, etc THEN get a Kitchen Sink.

The burgers and such are OK.

I say get the KS and have fun!

Hi, I am from Blue Country too.

Ok back to topic. :goodvibes We plan on eating a lunch and waiting 2-3 hours for the kitchen sink and then sharing a TS for supper that night. Then again my kids are teenagers who eat anything that is NOT nailed down.

Just be prepared that the Kitchen Sink is one scoop of every flavor, every topping and an entire can of whipped cream. You do not get to choose your flavors. If you or or children do not like certain flavors or toppings alot can go to waste or worse yet my kids would have argued about who gets the one scoop of chocolate! We let the kids order what they liked and would eat (yes, we did this for dinner one night since the portions are quite large even when not ordering the Kitchen Sink).

It looks like fun and some families did order it but most of it was left on the table after they left.

i recently posted a review of B&C with a kitchen sink. we were starving and ordered food first. there are 4 of us but my son ordered a kids meal and got his own sundae (which he barely touched). due to my dd's allergies we were able to customize the sink and the chef came out to talk to us about it.

considering that we ate lunch first i'm surprised at how much of it we ate. i'd say about 2/3 of it.

it's not just about the food, it's about the fun of receiving a HUGE ice cream sundae.. i say GO FOR IT!

The hubby and I gave it a go on our honeymoon last year and made the mistake of having lunch before hand. Not just like a burger and fries, but an app, and entree each at the ESPN club. It was not the brightest of ideas. We took a couple of laps around the boardwalk and then decided to give the kitchen sink a whirl. They let us customize the toppings thankfully because i don't do nuts or fruit. I am proud to say that we made a pretty big dent in it just the two of us. We went well below the rim of the sink, and then proceeded to waddle our way back to Epcot. We are definetely doing it again in September but we will NOT be having lunch before hand this time. I have some before and after pics and as soon as I read the how to post pictures thread I will get them on here.:upsidedow Enjoy your sink!

We had it earlier this year. There were four adult females and two boys ages 6 and 5. We pretty well cleaned it up. It was so interesting because it was always a sruprise what you got with each bite. After that was done, some in the party said they wanted some real food so they ordered some burgers also, which they said were good. One of those magical moments occurred at this meal. My grandson is a chicken strip eater (which they do not have there). When he ordered them the waiter said "Sorry, we don't have chicken strips". Now I would have expected my grandson to be very "vocal" about this but instead he just put his head in his hands and almost cried. you would have thought he was never going to see another chicken strip at WDW! The waiter said "Let me see what I can do". he came back after a while with an order of chicken strips. he had went next door to Cape May Cafe (which was not open yet) and the cook fried up some chicken strips for him. Now that is the Disney magic.

For our trip in January, my son and I are going to tackle the sink as our lunch one day.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

I'm planning on making the Kitchen Sink our actual lunch the day we eat there! It will be me and two 13yr girls.....

I'm going to Beaches & Cream in Nov. and there are 4 of us that will be tackling the Kitchen sink, half of the group thinks we should have lunch first, but when I look at this picture I think this might be all that I can eat that day!!

When my parents and their friends get a Kitchen Sink (which is almost monthly) each couple will get a burger and cut it in half.

We had an earlyish lunch, did some more park stuff, had a swim, and then conquered the Kitchen Sink as a late afternoon snack. There were 3 of us though and we barely even got past the whip cream and stuff on top to get to the ice cream. Another table ordered it with the can of whip cream on the side - that was a great idea. We'll be doing that next time. I had to eat so much whip cream just to get to the ice cream and I really just wanted the ice cream. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies.....

Kitchen Sink - scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee and mint chocolate chip, smothered in every topping we have $21.99

So I take it from the replies here that I can't ask for any customizing.... leave out the coffee or only hot fudge, etc.? I really wish that this was a giant hot fudge sunday :)

The consensus then is that the Kitchen Sink is good, not gross, right. The mix works? It sure looks good, but I am not a fan of strawberry topping on chocolate ice cream, etc. It looks too good not to try once.

we had ours customized due to allergies. all of the toppings except the bananas, cherries and whipped cream were on the side.

they included, banana bread, brownies, angel food cake, mars bars(i think), oreos, sprinkles, chocolate chips and i'm sure others i forget.
