Advice Request: Hollywood Vine & Fantasmic

Hi Everyone! I hope this message finds you all well, and that you're having a magical week.

My family and I are taking a vacation to Disney this Christmas season (the week of December 16th), and I'm considering booking Minnie's Dine at Hollywood Vine on the night we're doing Hollywood Studios. The only reservation we can get is 7:15, and I'm worried about missing Fantasmic! that night. Do you think we could swing that time and catch Fantasmic?

Fantasmic is 8pm that week. You need to factor in a likely wait of 15-30 minutes for your table there as the holiday dine gets very popular--we have eaten there many times and always had to wait past our reservation time. And it takes 10-20 minutes to get from the restaurant to Fantasmic as it is quite a long walk and the walk can be slow if the park is crowded. Even you ate lightening quick, it's very unlikely you would see all the characters at H&V unless you stay at least an hour.

So in a nutshell, no. I would keep holding out for an earlier reservation, and would not eat any later than 6pm if you want to watch Fantasmic (and even that might be cutting it close).

Too close for sure. Why not look into doing an early dinner or late lunch? There is also the fantasmic package so you could eat at one of the better options (brown derby or mama melrose) and do it so you get the better fantasmic dining seating. Just a thought.


I just popped on to look and there are reservations w/ the fantasmic package for later lunches (2-4pm) for all restaurants which are included. Sometimes that afternoon break from the crowds is nice after going all morning at the park.
