Advice! Pregnant..Go during Free Dining, or wait till baby is 9 mos and payoff bills?

I am not sure what you should do - we are having the "should we go in September?" discussion ourselves BUT I did want to say that I went to WDW this past December while 27-29 weeks pregnant. We had a *wonderful* time and I had no problem pacing myself. When my older two (ages 5 and 2)napped in the afternoon, so did I. Luckily, though, the weather was perfect. Adding the stress of the heat might make things incrementally more difficult but I wouldn't discourage you based solely on being pregnant. For us, it was a fantastic memory right before our family became a little bit bigger.

We are going in September with free dining. I will be about 8 months pregnant and we're travelling 3 kids - 16, 5, and 19months. I have to scramble to find the money in our budget, but I'm really wanting a family trip before the baby is born. And I think the kids will have a blast, especially the younger 2!

And the food is free and I'm a mighty hungry pregnant lady!

I went to Disney in Oct 02 when I was 26 weeks pregnant with my 3rd. I went with a friend and my oldest who was 3 1/2. I left my wild little boy (21 months) at home with DH. I wasn't up to chasing my DS and DH didn't want to go. I figured we'd never take all 3 children until the 3rd was at least 3 and I didn't want my oldest to not experience the magic until she was 7. But as it turned out we went 3 times before youngest was 3.

I carried my youngest very low and I remember thinking after I came home that I couldn't have done it at 28 weeks. For me, the most difficult thing was walking down the monorail ramps. It was really hot when I was there (98ish-hotter than any other time I've been in Oct) and I actually did very well. We did go back to the room every afternoon to rest. I have some really great memories from that trip.

I also took my youngest when she was 11 months, 21 months and 33 months. She was the easiest at 11 months-she wasn't really afraid of anything. The only problems we had with her was she would nap a lot in the stroller and wasn't yet walking so she didn't sleep real well at night. Also she was distracted by all the excitement to eat real well so she ended up getting very constipated. From that point on I made sure she ate her fruit and veggies first.

I'm afraid I'm not a lot of help but I did want you to know that either way should work out OK for you.

SOOOOO appreciating the responses. :thumbsup2

Someone mentioned that the free dining was our only draw. Partly true, but we also will have our 2yo being Free this time as compared to waiting and paying for him later.
We know that we were "just" there in Dec, but it would be our annual family vaca but a bit early due to the baby coming in Dec.

Weighing whether it would be easier to go now vs when baby is about 9 or so months is hard b/c I have NO idea how I will feel in another 12 weeks AND I have no idea what type of baby the new one will be.....

We are weghing all our options. It would put off/delay our "paying off most of the bills" plan for about 4 months or so...

AAHHH........ decisions decisions.......

Thanks everyone for the input!!

I would definately wait to go until after the baby is born. I think the September heat would be too much. I can't imagine going while pregnant it's way too tiring. Go September 2007, and who knows, possibly free dining again??!! We can hope!

Yes, every pregnancy is different....but if you think about your own past pregnancies and then the average experiences at six months (by average, I am thinking what you might find in "What to Expect), you might really enjoy the chance to spend extra special time with your children before you have to focus on the daily needs of a baby again. Also, I found that walking really helped my feet from swelling (a good thing) and that I was always really hungry at about six months (baby getting ready to growth spurt, I was about to really "show" with both kids)....you'll really do the free dining justice if you feel this way too!

I went from Ohio to Australia when I was 7 months pregnant. We snorkeled, hiked rain forests, etc. I know every woman is different...but I planned for the best and prepared for the worst (had names of hospital/doctor in Australia/medical card/records) and had a really great time!

Go...go..go!

Again, thank you for the honest input.

Right now we are leaning towards not going because of sticking to our pay of the bils plan...

but, the temptation is still there. We keep thinking "what if the baby can't travel for awhile" (our last one we didn't travel till he was 21 months) and so on, etc....

Been doing some comparison shopping and thinking...

If we waited till the baby is a bit over a year (easier to travel than 9 months)
our oldest will be 10 (adult!!) and our 2 year old will be 3 going on 4 , so not free anymore...
The difference in price between going THIS Sept and January 2008 is almost $1000....

So, now we are a bit more confused....

oh well....still need to think and "budget" and see if we should do it now...

Thanks for the input everyone! :thumbsup2
