DH and I are going to US/IOA Dec 7 with check out Dec 10. We went last year for 2 nights/3 days in early Nov for the first time and liked it so much decided to go back this year and add a night. Could anyone tell me what to expect this time of year? What should we definitely see?

Last year we rode most of the rides but didn't get to see very many shows. I am hoping to correct that error this year. Are there Xmas things going on? What are the park hours then?

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated! We will be staying at Portofino. Is Portofino a closer walk than Royal Pacific? DH not real good about waiting for the water taxi.

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

Hi - The walk from the Portofino is the longest of all three properties. I'd definitely wait for the water taxi.

Haven't looked at the calendar but you should be there right around time for Grinchmas and the Macy's parade. The decorations in Seuss Landing at Christmas are great.

I'm sure other will chime in with some "do not miss'"

Thank you lovetheparks. I was afraid that Portofino was going to be a longer walk. Oh well, I can hear DH now... "told you so!" Although I agree with the waiting for the water taxi, DH is not so inclined. Last year we walked almost everytime. Only got him to take the water taxi once.

Anyone else out there? What are the Do Not Misses?

There is Grinchmas, but not much difference in the other events for December time. Usually nice weather when weather is bad at home so it's one of my favorite times to get away. All the 3 resorts are nice, Portofino I think is the most romantic and you can walk everywhere no problem.

You should check out the shows, but I have to admit I go for the rides!

Thanks JenniferW!

I am hoping that the weather is cooler than it was when we were there last year. That way I get out of riding the wet rides! :teeth: DH loves them. He constantly tells me "You won't get that wet" Yea, right. I put on the poncho, he makes fun of me, I put on "wet shoes" and store the running shoes in a locker, he makes fun of me. We go on the ride, I put up my hood, hold it tight, close my eyes, and he makes fun of me. We get off the ride, I put on my dry running shoes, take off the poncho and shake off the water, and it's my turn to make fun of DH who is drenched to the bone! :rotfl2:

OK, what is Grinchmas? I know the Suess story. What happens at IOA with Grinchmas?

Come on Dissers.... I always count on you to know all there is, and to be kind enought to share your information!

Anyone know what kind of crowds we will be seeing? We arrive Nov 7th, will leave around 4:30 for the airport to head back to the cold of Wisconsin. I'm guessing the 7th and 8th shouldn't be bad, but do the crowds pick up on Friday and Saturday?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!
