Does anyone have any advice on when to go to Disney World? My husband and I were suppose to go next May but it now looks like we will have to push the trip back. We are thinking either October or the beginning of December. When would you go?

Traditionally, late August and early fall were the best times but there aren't really any "good" times anymore.

I'm more of a Christmas guy myself so I'd choose the beginning of December but note that the prices might be a little higher for the holiday season.

Going in October might be a little cheaper but you'll have to contend with the Halloween Party nights (same as the Christmas Party nights in December) which close the park early unless you pay extra for the party (or just go to the party which is about 3/4 the cost of a ticket these days)

October is my favorite time of year to go to Disney. The Food and Wine Festival is in full swing at Epcot, and Magic Kingdom has Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I chose October but that is just because it is my favorite time. I don't think there is much difference crowd wise between October and December though.

It may depend on the exact weeks in question, but if I had no school schedule constraints, I'd pick early December. I have gone several Octobers and love it, but it does come with its own scheduling challenges (shortened days due to the Halloween party, jam-packed days to avoid Epcot during food and wine). It has also gotten to be quite a bit less empty during that time. I think that early December is still fairly slow, possibly more so that October. I'd like to see the Christmas decorations while the Christmas crowds and prices are not yet in full swing!

As someone who goes every December and sometimes in October, IF crowds are your biggest concern, hands down the FIRST week of December is best. October has gorgeous weather and F&W festival--it is also a great time to go, but expect spring break level crowds. Starting about December 14, the crowds thicken each day.

FYI. I found Epcot to be much less enjoyable on the weekends of F&W, due to lots of inebriated revelers.

I'd go in early December for the Christmas decorations :love:and, hopefully, lower crowds (since kids are in school.)

Early December! You get to see all the holiday stuff before the big crowd gets there, and the heat is typically not as oppressive.

I voted for December for the holiday decorations. But the Food and Wine festival might be more important to you. It is a tough choice.

Whichever you chose I am sure you will have a magical visit!
