Our June trip is fast approaching and I seem to be the only one incredibly excited. Scott, my hopefully soon-to-be better half has never did the whole Disney experience. He did the Magic Kingdom once and thinks he has, "Been to Disney World." He has never stayed on property, nor has he been to any of the other parks. I have a detailed itinerary and he isn't even interested in looking at it. He said he will get excited when we get there. I live for planning my Disney vacations and he seems to resent that now. I'm hoping he will catch the bug as well. What can I do to get him more excited? Any of you other ladies or men had problems with this? At least his son and his friend are excited!

I just want to share the whole experience with him!!

Thanks for letting me vent and any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi,
My family went the first time to WDW for christmas 2003.....I did all the planning and all the research.....My dh thought i started to become obessed with disney.......Especially with this website, but the info and help you get from others is great.....I guess he just doesn't get it.....He really wasn't that excited either but my boys were thrilled couldn't wait.....
Any ways when we got there he became extremely excited just like my boys......Then when i learned all the tips and tricks on how to get around it, was where did you learn that or hear that.....I really think he was amazed at what i learned off this website.....Maybe he thought i was playing games or something..LOL...
I think when you actually get there you will see a change, the reality will set in......Then when he realizes all the research you have been doing and really how much these boards will help you, he will appreciate the fact you took the time to do it.... Some people don't take to disney as others do...I'm like a child and can't wait until it's time.....

>What can I do to get him more excited?

Take him, and have as much fun as is humanly possible! :) Next trip he'll be excited!

You might want to try what I do with my DH. I talk to him about it as little as possible!! I've never told him about the boards, or TGM or anything. He knows that I spend time on the computer planning, but if he knew how much time, he's hit the roof. :scared1: However, I know the time is needed if we are going to enjoy our vacation. He has to work 3 out of the 6 days we are there, plus he hates crowds, so I need to plan to make the best of our time. I know that once he is there, he will be OK, but until then, I keep my yap shut & keep planning. :teeth:

I love your advice i will have to remember that for next trip.....My dh thought i went disney nuts.....I think he became sick of hearing about disney.....Reading up on everything makes so excited about going you want to share it with someone, i guess some people just don't feel the same...I'm like a little kid inside, i become so excite.....

Ahh he's like my DH, he has all the symptoms. My husband was excited on the inside but never showed it on the outside the first time we went to WDW (May 2003). Once we got there, he unleashed all that excitement from inside and we had a blast. That's called passive aggressiveness LOL.

I could suggest to you to get him in on the planning but if he's like my DH, then you'll have no luck. According to my better half, it's my job to plan and make it a good trip. So do your best...he can only set himself off.
