Advice planning hard ticket events at the end of August?

Here's the plan, fly from Oregon and stay in Orlando August 21 to September 2. We are DVC and have 4 nights at BC and then 8 nights AK-Jambo :) We have APs so can come and go as we please, but I am considering DAH at MK and MNSSHP. I love the halloween festivities and could easily see doing two parties.

However, SWGE is mucking up my planning process! Specifically, I want to be available to try and attend the passholder preview. Not knowing anything about how Disney does previews of new lands, I can't decide about buying the non-refundable hard tickets. What if I can get into a preview but it coincides with another event? I'm holding off on buying hard ticketed events and fretting about things selling out.

I'd like any insight into passholder previews and educated guesses and/or rumors about how Disney is going to do the SWGE previews. Will there be more than one? Morning or night?

Historically, if DAH or MNSSHP is going to sell out, it will happen the day before or the day of (exception: actual Halloween night sells out much earlier, but that's not your date!). I would hold off buying tickets since the previews will be much more limited in timing. There's no rush to buy tickets, you have two months!
