We are new to cruising and have a few questions. What time are you permitted to board the boat and when should we plan on arriving. We are trying to determine whether or not to stay at WDW the day before or just 2 days after (DVC owners w/ anual passes).

Any advice.

Usually around noon is when you can get on the ship. You can arrive as early as 10:30am, if they aren't ready they make you park and wait.

So if our plane lands at 10:30, that should give us enough time to get there when we can board ...right? We have 2 DS (they will be 5 and 10 mths) I'd hate to make them wait 2 hours after just travelling all that time. But, if we get there closer to 12:00 will it take a lot longer to board?

The good thing about the Wonder is that many people are arriving from the parks via a land-and-sea package. They arrive about 2:00 - 2:30, if they use DCL transportation.

So, by arriving at noon, you will be at the end of the initial line, but it probably won't be as long as it would have been for the Magic, b/c many people from the parks have not arrived.

I have never been on the ship later than noon. I am sure this can happen though, but we have not had it happen to us. I love to get there early. We just got back yesterday from a 3 dya cruise on DCL and we were at the PC before the terminal opened. We were the second family in line to go into the terminal and the second family in the line to enter the ship. They time flew by too. We talked to a great couple in front of us and truly enjoyed ourselves. Plus I meet Lisa and Charleen in line. My fella dis buddies.
We always stay at the Radisson at the Port. But Disney is only an hour away. So you could stay there and come over early. I do not think our cruise was really full because I never once felt crowded like I have in the past. Good luck.

We too are DVC owners and had around 80 points in holding, so we decided to splurge and booked two (hopefully connecting) tower rooms at the Contemporay for our precruise stay

Our plan is to stay overnight at the CR, hit MK that night, 740am breakfast at Chef Mickeys, then we are heading to port. I figure an hour for breakfast, regroup, pack up and head out and we will be at the port around 11-1130.

Given an option I would never fly in the day of a cruise. I have watched too many "Airline" episodes to know that is asking for trouble! LOL

I'll let ya know how our plan works!
