Sooo I just absolutely have to go again so I booked HoJos for Dec 3-7:woohoo:

I am taking DD4 (she'll be 5 then) AND I'm going to take my parents on my nickle:scared1: This is quite a feat since I'm a single mom pay check to paycheck. I'm planning on making good use of thos gov checks we're supposed to get in May :rotfl:

I know it's too early to start asking questions about DL in Dec. Only because then I won't have anything to ask when I can't contain my excitement in November:lmao:

So instead, I'd love it if anyone can give me ideas on how to surprise my folks. Their anniversary is in June. I'd like to "tell" them then so they have time to consider the offer. Mom's kind of a control freak like me and I want to give her plenty of time to...adjust to the idea.

Also, I'm wondering if I'm being selfish in the "gift" because I really really want to go back. :confused3 But I went in Feb with my friends and when we got back it seemed like Mom and Dad were really interested in going esp. since DD is big enough for bigger rides now. Should I give them a weekend together in Carmel instead? :guilty: Time with them is really imporant to me and I want to do this with them.

Help please!:listen:

We are about to take our mother-in-law on a trip with us, our SIL, BIL and our nephews. This was a gift from all of us for her 60th birthday. Since this is the first trip for our nephews, we thought it would be fun to make it a family activity and we knew she would love to see the kids having so much fun (and she is thrilled, or so she says ;) ).

We took her out to breakfast on her birthday and we had her open her present that was a pair of Mickey ears with 'grandma' embroidered on it, and inside we made a card with a picture of all of us that said "We're going to Disneyland!" It was so much fun to see her light up and now we are just counting down to the trip...20 more days!

Have fun, I think they'll love it! Plus with the Christmas decorations up it will be even better!!

Thanks! Did you have the ears done on your last trip or is there a way to order them? What a great idea to give a Diney-themed gift!

Haha, yes we are crazy and got the ears on a previous trip about a year in advance! I think there are some sites that you can order ears from, but I don't know if they will embroider them (but you could get that done somewhere where you live). Anyone else know?

If you can't find them anywhere online, I am going soon and could send them to you. (Or you might get a better idea for a surprise from some one on here!)

That's a really good idea, but seems like a lot of trouble to ask someone else to go through. If I don't come up with something else, I'll probably go with some kind of Disney gift - like something I can get from the Disney store or possibly E-Bay. Thanks for the great idea, and GREAT planning!:thumbsup2

It can't be too crazy since I'm planning almost a year in advance!

If it's as important for them to spend time with you as you say it is to spend time with them, then I think they will adore this gift and the thought that went into it. (It's not selfish if it's something fun everyone else will enjoy too!)

The Disney store online always has CRAZY good deals going on things. Check there periodically and you can get some fun things over the course of this year that you can then present as a gift/surprise!

Thanks Noryglory. I'll definitely check out the deals!
