Advice on selling small points addons

There won't be any smilies in this post...

my husband and I have decided to go our separate ways. We are in the very early stages of deciding what to do with our assets and some of them include DVC purchases. I know I can resell the larger parcel through the Timeshare Store, but I've read on these boards that smaller addons are not cost effective to sell that way. In the event that we decide to sell, does anyone have advice on how to sell small point amounts without taking a bath in commissions (I have two addons of 50 points each).

Nothing prevents your going through a broker to sell all of your points as one package with only one commission. Otherwise, if you choose to split the add-on's from the rest of the points, going through a broker can be a big loss because they are likely to have a minimum commission of $1000 or more. However, it does not hurt to ask if they will do it on a straight percentage commission with no set minimum commission. And with sales going briskly now they may take that risk. Otherwise, your option is to find a buyer essentially on your own (you may even get e-mails because of your post) and to be able to complete that kind of sale you need to hire a lawyer and get a title company in Florida to do the closing..

As for the package, I would think there would be folks out there more than happy to look at a package with add-ons included. Maybe even some on the other side of the cities...

You can certainly specify that the contracts (your original, plus the add-ons) will be sold as one package. The way resales have been selling, the brokers should be happy to meet your request. Good luck!

I certainly would not lose 15% to a broker with the high demand out there. Sell them yourself. Like with a mention here or on ebay.

... and the last thing I want right now is to get in trouble on these boards. As I said in my original post, we have not definitely decided to sell. After I posted last night, my husband said he may keep the addons. I didn't realize the original points and the addons could be packaged together to sell. I've got some good info. to move forward - thanks!
