Hello, I'm planning on renting points for a DVC resort vacation. When the reservation is made in my name, can I then call and make dining, shows, etc. reservations or does the DVC owner still do this? I was told that the resort will not talk to anyone but the owner. Is that true? Thanks for any help in advance.

The owner will have to do anything related to the reservation itself, including forwarding your requests, ordering DDP, arranging for DME, etc. Those all have to go through DVC Member Services, and they will no longer take calls from non-members.

You make your own dinner and show reservations.

I agree.

As JimMIA said, anything directly related to the room reservation must be done by the member through Member Services Restaurant Dining reservations do not need to go through Memeber Services, and can be made through the regular Disney reservation phone number, they will be linked to your telephone number instead of room reservation number.

I've just recently returned from a stay at BWV on rented points. As others have stated, Member Services won't talk to you. So, when you're setting up the rental agreement, ask the owner to request DDP and ME if you want them. YOu can call and make ADR's yourself.

About 5 days before your arrival, Member Services will send your information to the resort. At that point, the resort will deal with you. I phoned 5 days before arrival just to confirm our requests were in the system and had no problems at all.
