Advice on Eastertime car rental??

I just snagged a great airfare for Eastertime. Now I need to rent a car. While I've rented many, many cars over the years, I've never rented at Eastertime when MCO was my pickup location.

Questions - When do codes generally come up for April car rentals? Should I reserve the best that I can get right now to make sure I have something, and then just keep checking the rates? Or do I still have plenty of time without being concerned that all the cars in my preferred category (compact) will be taken?

Any other words of wisdom on renting a car at MCO at a peak travel time? Thanks in advance!

I would book my car asap and keep trying for better rates when you spot new codes. I booked last year during labor day weekend for an Easter week car rental. As it got closer to Easter, the price went up higher. At least you can cancel the rental if you find a better price later on.

Just keep checking the boards and www.rentalcodes.com. Last year I was able to use my Disney CLub code but , oh well, can't use it now. There's also coupons on line at National that you can use for April.

We will never travel at Easter time again for one reason: a total lack of service by everyone but Disney. So heres my tip:

National is horrible all the time. I can only imagine that they would be the pit of despair at Easter.

NO matter how cheap you can get a car from them, dont rent from them.

We didn't have a problem with National last Easter;however, we did use EA service so we just went outside and picked our car out and drove away.
