I would like to make it to both of the Character dining experiences and wanted to get some advice on which ones to try and get.

I was thinking of doing Crystal Palace for Breakfast and Chef Mickey's for Dinner. What do you guys think? Or should we do Chef Mickey's for Breakfast and Crystal Palace for Lunch or Dinner?

Which meals are best at these restaurants? What would you recommend?

Thanks,
Michele

I think Crytal Palace is great for breakfast because you can get an early ADR and be done with your meal at park opening or maybe even before. The food is standard buffet breakfast food. Chef Mickey's is very nice for dinner. Have fun!

We always do our character meals at dinner. I have eaten at both & the food was ok. My ds is a very picky eater- he doesn't eat meat & there is always something for him at these 2 buffets. IMO the food at 1900 Park Fare in the GF is a better buffet. Like I said this is in my opinion. Bon Appetit!

I gotta tell ya, Crystal Palace has some fantabulous food for lunch!!!:cool1: The fritatta, pasta with chicken and wild mushrooms and the salmon are to die for! Not your basic buffet, trust me. Breakfast is good here, but nothing compared to the lunch offerings.:)

I agree. :thumbsup2 Today I was trying to finalize my ADR's and I decided on CP for late lunch/early dinner and CM's for breakfast. The pasta with chicken and mushrooms is my favorite!

That being said, going to breakfast at CP before MK opens was great! You should do it at least once

For years we always did Chef Mickey's. Now by fr CP is a much better place to eat at!! I'm not sure what happened at Chef Mickey's, but the food quality went down along with the service.

Now we eat our first full day breakfast meal in the parks at CP. We absolutly love it!!!

You are getting a lot of differing opinions!

I LOVE CP *and* CM for breakfast, and I also LOVE CP for lunch and dinner.

So...I would do CM for breakfast (it is actually our all time favorite character breakfast, taking into consideration food, atmosphere and characters...a must do for us every trip) and CP for dinner.

If you def want both places but not the same meal I would have to go with CP for dinner and CM for breakfast.

We love CP for breakfast and dinner but we do not like CM for dinner at all, the food was terrible.

We aren't big breakfast eaters and like to hit the parks in time to be at rope drop. So...we don't do table service breakfasts.

I like to book our table service reservations for dinner in the theme park we are touring. Depending on what time the parks close (we go in June so it's usually around 10:00 p.m., sometimes as late as midnight) and what time the night time entertainment is scheduled for, we make our ADRs for 7:45 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

We eat a light breakfast in our room, stop for an early counter service lunch and buy a snack mid-afternoon. By the time our ADR rolls around, we are ready for a nice, air conditioned sit down dinner. Table service meals take about 1 hour to 1 1/4 hour.

Anyway......we really, really enjoy eating at the Crystal Palace. I am very picky about buffets but this one is really well maintained and staffed. There is a huge variety of foods to choose from. We have some picky eaters in our group and we never have a problem finding something we really like. If you eat dinner there, be sure to try the Fire Roasted Corn Spoon Bread. It's delicious!

When I was working for Disney for the college program I was assigned to the Crystal Palace and I have to agree, they have some of the best food. I ate my way through the summer there after the meals were over!;)

We have done the following:
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Crystal Palace Lunch
Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Chef Mickey's Dinner

If I had to choose a favorite at each it would be Crystal Palace Lunch and Chef Mickey's Dinner. Breakfast is similar at both.

I have gone to CP for all 3, and I prefer lunch/dinner over breakfast. I am doing CM breakfast this summer, so I hope it is good.

another vote for CP for lunch. The food is really so much better than most buffets. We like to do a really early lunch there, since we aren't big breakfast eaters and prefer to hightail it out of the room to the parks, so never take time for a table service breakfast.

We've only done CM for dinner (several times) and it's really, um, well, to be nice I will just say we aren't impressed. ;)

We hear breakfast is good though, so maybe try CP for lunch, and CM for breakfast?

I think you will enjoy either one, but my vote is CP for lunch for sure, the food is really good.
