Advice on choice of parks June 2005

Hello,
We've got 8 nights in Orlando next June before we travel to the Keys and Miami to complete our 16 day adventure.

We have been to Orlando before and are quite clued up (as much as anyone can be) on what there is to do etc. Despite this, and I know its still nearly a year away, we are having difficulties deciding on which parks to visit.

Ideally and to not completely shatter ourselves in the first week we were looking at a max of 4 maybe 5 parks in those 8 days. The rest of the time will be spent shopping (yes it is me again the man who actually likes it), and doing other things.

Any ideas on combinations? Currently the latest choices are Epcot, MGM, Universal and IOA.

Epcot is essential because we missed Mission Space by a whisker on last years trip and I am also hopeful Soarin (we've done this in LA and it is by far the best ride there) will be up and running by then (can anyone confirm expected opening?)

MGM and IOA are personal favourites and we wouldn't miss them for the world.

Universal also looks favourable due to the Mummy ride and also Shrek which we missed out on last year due to technical problems (it had only just opened).

That means we miss AK and MK (Alien Encounter RIP the best ride there), Sea World and Busch Gardens.

We have no kids, what are your thoughts?

Julian

I wouldn't worry about missing Sea World, Busch Gardens or Animal Kingdom but for me Magic Kingdom is a must along with the others you mentioned. Epcot is also my favourite and I'm really looking forward to Soarin' next year, but MK IS the essence of Disney and I simply couldn't miss it.
I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you decide to do.

Hello,

I think your choices look good bearing in mind you have no children, but I'm mainly posting to say that according to all sources, Soarin' should definitely be open by June 2005. I think Spring 2005 is the vague date at the moment but have read somewhere this will be early Spring.

Thanks

Karen

Miffy2003,
That is extremely good news on Soarin. We went to California Adventure in Anaheim just after it opened and didn't know a great deal about Soarin over California, in fact we thought it was just another motion simulator ride (like Body Wars/Star Tours). How wrong we were!!! At the end of the ride everybody was like "WOW", it really is something special and a good addition to an already excellent park in Epcot.

Just want to be there now but musn't wish lives away etc.

Julian
