Advice On Budgeting

Going four 5 days at Portofino Bay, the very end of August. $820 total for one annual power pass, and 4 days, park to park, for 3 other people. Around $1000, for hotel at Portofino Bay for 5 nights. I also budgeted $1000 for food/drinks, and $300 for souvenirs. Is $1000 enough for food and drinks. We will bring beers and wine to hotel and keep cold with ice in the cooler. Might get a few out at dinner. Will also eat cereal, donuts(breakfast), peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for (lunch) on a lot of days. Should I budget more that $1000, or am I safe?

4 people would break that $1000 down to each having $250 for the 5 days at the darkside.

so that's $50 a day per person.


you stated your lunch would be sandwiches which i assume you are bringing with you.


i do dinner and lunch each day at the parks/hotels/city walk and rarely go over $50.


i think you will be fine with that food budget since it looks like doughnuts/cereal for breakfast and your dinner and snacks will be what you will be paying for.

The only budget item I would increase would be for the hotel. Five nights at portofino would be about $200 for each night with taxes and such. Unless your room rate was $149 a night or so I would increase your $1000 budget for hotels. Not much maybe another $100 or so.

i just assumed he had already booked the room since it is a couple of weeks out from his trip.

i was thinking he must of had a discount in getting that room at that price.

Actually Portofino Bay for 5 nights is only $1091 and some change. Got a deal for $194 per night by having an annual pass.

That's about what I usually budget for us per person per day - a little more than actually. I think it depends on what kinds of meals you're doing. A bunch of table service/sit down dinners add up, but if you're packing your own lunches and breakfasts then I think that should still be plenty.
