I slept in, and the Poly lake view studio is gone for our first day. Totally my fault. Should I book standard view and wait list lake view? Or get up at 7 tomorrow, book lake view for the other 4 nights, and wait list lake view for the first night? But who knows, the lake view rooms the other 4 nights may be gone by the end of today anyway if I wait until tomorrow, and the standard view for today may be gone as well.

I have never wait listed and the process makes me full of anxiety. I'm always sure I'll be the one that never gets off the list, or they will have an opening and forget I'm sitting there waiting, and I can't compulsively check because of work, and then end up looking at the parking lot in Pago Pago. That's why I've never used it.

Every resort I considered is gone for that first night: bay lake, boulder ridge, copper creek. I feel like an idiot. So I can't even go to plan B. The only thing I can book today is standard view poly. Of course my home resort is open (SSR) but we stayed there last year and it was a let down.
**Edited to add I did book standard view and waitlisted lake view. So it's 7 months out...is there hope of a wait list coming through?

Even if you book lake view, there's a 33% chance your lake view studio will be on the ground floor where the view is mostly looking at the bungalows instead of the lake.

I'd just go with standard for the trip.

There's always a chance of a waitlist going through, but you have to be easy going and willing to play the stalking (the website and regular calling) game. It doesn't sound like it is for you.

If you want to minimize the chance of a parking lot view, request Moorea or Tokelau.

Buying where you love to stay and booking at 11 months is the only way to remove booking anxiety. After several waitlist fails and deciding that the resort and room view was very important to us, we decided to bite the bullet and buy additional contracts at other resorts.

I would consider grabbing the Lake View for the last 4 nights, standard for the first night, if you can. Switching rooms after only one night is not that bad, I have done it many times. And of course waitlist and stalk for the first night Lake view, and if you get it, call to combine the reservations.

freaked me out for a second until I realized this was at the 7month window. can't wait until Disney gets their systems in gear so I can actually go to the website!
