Going Aug 8, when do I call and how early do they open??? Any tips or advice from those who have already booked their ADRS?

Just to clarify, that's 7AM EASTERN time, so 6AM in texas.

open at 7:00 AM Eastern time. Recently there have been longer waits. I would expect waits to decrease over time. It appears today that they are running two systems, one for before 5/25 and one for after. The two systems will still likely be running when you reach your 90 day mark.

When I called last week I had to wait about 45 minutes to get a CM for my dates. Due to some mix-up that I don't believe is normal, I was put on hold and restarted the whole process including the voice prompts. The next CM was about 25 minutes later and I finished out my dining.

I called back about 9:00 Eastern time because I forgot to make my BBB reservation. I got through then in under five minutes. I could have made ADRs with the same CM.

I wonder if one of the consequences of the 90 day change is that many people were used to making ADRs so much earlier and now a larger percentage of the people are anxious to make ADRs at that time and are used to planning that far ahead.

There are always some problems with a new system. Based on my calls last week, some of these persist. But if my experience between 7:00 and 9:00 AM calls is the norm, which it may not be, the issue could also be a demand one caused by previous custmers' experiences.

If, for example, call volume between 7:00-7:30 is 200% higher than norm and drops quickly thereafter, Disney has a choice of throwing more resources at that time slot or smoothing demand through hold times. Having some experience with scheduling workers, finding significant additional help for very short period of times is very expensive and problematic from a retention standpoint.

OK I've rambled too much. If you want popular restaurants or have specific times that you want, both in my case, then call at 7:00. If you want Boatwrights and Kona on one night of you trip but aren't particular which nights, you could try to call a little later and find the hold time a lot shorter.

if you are staying onsite, do you substract 10 days when you use this dining calculator?

No. You put in your arrival date and can call on the date it gives you, but then make reservations for up to 10 days total.

So for example we arrive September 5. I put in September 5 and it gives me June 7. On June 7 I can make reservations for September 5-14 (ten days).
