I think that when a kid questions you about anything, you have to be honest about it. Most of them figure things out for themselves and don't say anything about it. If they do say something, I think it is somewhat insulting to them to lie.
This is how we found out that DS was onto things. One day, when he was
6ish, we were at WDW and he said, "it's so cute the way the little kids think everything is real here." We laughed because that kid has always thought he was all grown up.
