Advice needed for clueless vacationer!

Last time we had the option of 40% off room or fd. We chose 40% because everyone told us it was a better deal than fd because we probably wouldn't eat that much.

As it turned out , we totally regretted not taking advantage of fd. We wanted to eat at all the restaurants on the grounds and they were expensive.

You really have to do the math to see which is the better deal between a RO discount and FD. Depending on the time of year you go, the resort/room type, number of people, their ages, etc., FD can (and sometimes does) turn out to be the better deal over a room discount, even at a deluxe resort. A lot of people tend to think that since the deluxe resorts are more expensive (particularly the monorail/Epcot resorts) that a room discount is always the best way to go, but that's not always the case ;).

My daughter played in a soccer tournament there and we stayed at AMu. It's literally a 3 minute drive to the field which makes it convenient to hit the parks quickly after the games.
We also payed for the tournament stay at Wode World of Sports rather then the daily rate. It was cheaper.
