I currently own 350 pts at BWV. Prior to BWV releasing the additional points, I was looking to add about 50 pts, since my Mom has now decided she likes the 1 bedroom instead of the studio.

I am trying to decide between 75pts or 100 pts with MB. I will be paying cash for either option. We have been going to WDW 3 to 4 times/ year. I carried over much of my 2002 allocation because we were paying cash to stay at AKL. However, we are staying at BWV again, and have managed to use all 270 carryover pts plus my 350 for 2003. I think I will have 10 pts to carry to 2004. My Mom is not in great health, so I don't know how many years she has. I am early 40's and single. I do take people with us ocassionaly.

Opinions on whether to go with 75 or 100 pts. As I said, I originally was looking for 50, but willing to go to 75 pts with a resale contract.

Do you really think MB is worth it? I'm not sure, as I would not have the use of the 100 pts for this year. In effect, since I would still have to pay maintenace, and figure in what the points cost for me to purchase for the year, I am figuring that Disney is really only giving you about $400, or $4.00/pt.

Since you don't need the current year's points, I would buy 100 points with Magical Beginnings, which brings the cost down to $74 per point. May I suggest that you consider buying the add on with a credit card that gives you points for purchases that you could use in the future for airline tickets, etc? Since you are planning to pay cash anyway, have the add on put on your credit card in increments (say, 1/3 each month for 3 months) and pay the balance when the bill comes. That way you are getting a little extra for paying cash.

Don't worry about getting too many points, you could always rent out any that you didn't use. Besides, you don't know what the future holds; you may be glad someday that you have a few extra points to play around with.

How about getting 2 contracts - 50 and 50 or 75 and 25. That way if you need to sell off some points in the future, you don't have to sell all of them.

Not a bad idea Debbie....I already have 3 contracts...270, 50, and 30.

Cruella, I didn't know they would let you split it like that in 3 payments. I usually put everything on my USAir VISA and pay it off every month.

can you really do that? split the payment up into 3 charges over a few months?
isn't that considered financing? i'm confused...
it would be great if you could really do that.

Disneyberry, I didn't know you could do that either. But after Cruelladeville's advice, I contacted my guide today and asked about this. She said no problem, so I am having them make 3 charges against my Disney Visa so I can earn some reward dollars.

I thought it was odd that you can't make payments with a charge card, but you can make a down payment that way, or even buy an entire contract if you have other financing. It's a nice little perk for all that money you are spending.
