We have been AP holders of DL in the past (my hubby was a cast member for 5 years before that). WDW is a whole other beast. MK is not our starting point - its so similar to DL that we don't need to start there. I think I've planned most of my week okay but I need advice on the second weekend.

We are going May 4th - May 13. But we are not doing just WDW. We are coming from CA so our flight gets in late on Friday the 4th and we dont leave until 7pm on Sunday the 13th. My children are dd 9 years old (50") and ds 5 years old (44"). Daughter will go on everything, my son is iffy on the "dark" rides. We plan on returning to our rental around 4 every day so the kids can get a small rest, play in the pool and have dinner. Some nights we will go back, some we wont. Trying to Space out the late nights so they are not too tired. Our rental is about 5 minutes away from WDW entrance with ticket center being 20 minutes away.

Here are my current plans with 6 day Hopper Plus:
Saturday - Typhoon Lagoon & Disney Springs: We will need a day to acclimate ourselves with the time change so we fill this is a good option for us.
Sunday - Kennedy Space Center
Monday - Epcot - early evening break for dinner - return for evening rides and Illuminations
Tuesday - AK - ending around 4 or 5
Wednesday - MK with BOG PPO ending around 4 or 5
Thursday - MK with Pirates League ending around 4 or 5
Friday - HS morning - AK evening rides and show

Here's where I have the problem. I have one more ticket. Saturday morning we are going to Wild Florida air boat ride and wild animal park. We plan on spending a few hours there in the early morning... We have Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday until about 3. Originally I was thinking of going HS for Fantasmic on our last day. But now Im thinking maybe we should do that midweek and then Spend the rest of Saturday at MK or Epcot. I fill that maybe we will want to spend more time at EP or the kids will want to go back to their favorite rides at MK. We can even do one of those on Sunday instead of Saturday. We also considered going to Blizzard Beach on Sunday. What Do you think? What would you do? On another note - we will be getting a DAS for my dd with HFASD.

For Saturday I would book FP for whatever park is the hardest to get FP for.

You can change to a different park with easier FP to get if you decide you want to as your time unfolds. Probably you can even make your decision the day before and be fine.

You have such an awesome trip planned! Personally, I would plan on doing Fantasmic mid-week, booking FP+ for MK on Saturday afternoon and doing BB on Sunday. If you decide you would rather go to EP on Saturday evening, you could always switch those FP+ out that day.

Do you plan to see Happily Ever After or MK after dark at all?

no - we will be able to see the fireworks from our rental. I know that its a different experience with the music, but my dd does not do well with the loud noises. We will have ear plug for fantasmic, illuminations and River of Lights, but I am hoping that the explosions are minimal and the "show" our performs the bangs from fireworks.

So if Book a FP for 7DMT at MK and a couple of others, just so that we have it, and then make the final decision for the park while we are there.

That's what I would do. I would book something I could be happy with and then make the final decision as the week unfolds.

You know Illuminations is a major firework show right? I personally have found that I notice the the Fireworks far less during Happily Ever After because of the projections on the castle, vs the globe of Illuminations. In fact it wasn't until I caught HEA when I was in Fantasyland (and thereby not seeing the projections) that I realized how many fireworks actually occur during it. When I watch Illuminations I find myself noticing the fireworks far more than what is happening on the globe. If you're going to try one I would try Happily Ever After instead of Illuminations.

There are no explosions during ROL because of the animals, and Fantasmic is minimal.

As far as your extra day I would use it for either EP or AK. Both of those are 2 day parks for my family.

We let our kids choose our last day's agenda last trip. We did it the night before. It was fun to see which things were important enough to them to do over again.
